The Tenderness is a nickname for RNH, and possibly the greatest nickname of all time.
Where it came from, I'm not entirely sure. My guess would be HF boards.

Flames could be drafting 31-35 with that second. No thanks from me.

Goalies are a wash, both are terrible. Grabner has 2 points in 22 games this year and is nowhere near the player he used to be. PLUS we give up a better draft pick.

I don't watch Toronto games, but Bernier can't be as bad as Hiller... can he? This is a guy that stepped in for Quick and didn't miss a beat.

Bernier is younger, and he's better than he's shown in Toronto this year. Plus he has an extra year, so Treliving won't have to worry about finding a goalie before next season. And Grabner is a pending UFA, while Raymond has an extra year, so that gets rid of Raymond for next year.
I like it.

Wait was that edited I could swear it said 2nd. Either way it's a no from me. Trading for goalies like that are what the Oilers would do.

What other options do they have for next season? Trade for Price? Re-sign Ramo? Hand Ortio the #1 job?

I'd rather give up a B prospect than a third. Bernier should have basically the same value as our goalies.

I'd do that trade just to get rid of Raymond. Sure you have Bernier on the books for another year, but who cares? If he continues to be terrible, you have him for only one more year. Flames will be needing 2 goalies after this year anyways. If Bernier has a bounceback, then score.

Sign Antti Raanta would be my push. Let him and Ortio battle for the #1 spot, Raanta probably wins. He will be better than both Ramo and Hiller and is still young.

I believe in the Jays.
|
I'd do a deal close to that (but not that deal). I don't want to move a likely 40sh draft slots (even in the middle rounds) in order to avoid signing a goalie next offseason. Change the CGY pick to a 2017 3rd and I'd be down.

To be honest, I'm not sure Ortio is even going to sign with the Flames after this season. He probably explores other options before he thinks about re-signing with us.

Heck, I think get rid of of the picks involved, and just do a straight Hiller/Raymond for Bernier/Grabner. Both teams get rid of players, hoping change of scenery helps all the players involved. It's all basically a wash. Hiller / Grabner UFA, and each team gets an extra year of Bernier / Raymond.

Raanta is definitely the guy I think we should be shooting for. Solid numbers in the NHL and AHL, has starter potential and is just reaching a goalie's prime age. Good stop-gap until Gillies is ready.

He'll be a RFA though, he doesn't really have many options unless he wants to go back to Europe.

Well he's an RFA, so if he doesn't sign here he won't have a shot at playing in the NHL.
If he really wants to be an NHL goalie then his best option is to sign here and work hard over the summer to get better, come into camp and win a job.

Is he? I thought he was UFA. Hmm, I must have heard wrong on the radio then.
