Oh, I agree with the luck part. I was just trying to point out that this year's team seems to have zero heart and it's very frustrating to watch.
They had that fiery 'screw everybody else' mentality when everyone was predicting them to be bottom feeders at the start of last season. That same confidence isn't there.
This was the very moment the Flames became the tin man:
All I saw was a team that skated hard and pursued the puck. I wish Byron was still on the team but he'd be getting called out just as much at this point in the season.
Really worried about the PK. Backlund with 2 faceoff losses killing penalties and Sharks score 2 PPG in the second period. The PK needs to be way more aggressive in all 3 zones. Maybe they really miss Bouma and Byron.
I'd like to see more of Granlund and call up Grant or perhaps Hathaway to kill penalties. They need more speed.
I know it's hindsight but man I bet Treliving is wishing he traded Hudler and Wideman in the offseason when their value was high.
Wideman never was highly valued. Everyone knows what he is. Terrible defensively and above average defensively. Problem is when he doesn't score he's not an NHLer. Not many teams willing to take the risk.
