I think you can take those Incarcerated Bob Tweets and flush them down the crapper no?
That guy is terrible when it comes to hockey inside knowledge, is he better with baseball?
IIRC, Incarceratedbob is a huge baseball insider but has little contacts in hockey. I think his hockey insider info stems from the same circle of sources but less accurate. If I had to guess, his sources are lawers or on the business side of things. Baseball insider stuff is a lot more transparent and easier to get a hold of compared to hockey, I feel like the NHL has the best cone of silence or controlled info release in all of pro sports.

Updated version of the Johnny Cash song, put to all the Jays home runs.
The original one ended at the Texas series in August. This one, done by a different chap, goes through to the end of the ALDS, and fairly certain he's done some editing song-wise to repeat some of the verses of the song to get all the HR's in.

Rogers might just pony up because it also helps their fledgling media business in a roundabout way.
With CRTC imposing new changes to the way TV content can be distributed having a strong Jays team, that many Canadians want to watch, is a good way to keep your Sportsnet subscriptions high in the summer months when people maybe more likely to drop a sports channel if there is no hockey on.
The Red Sox have the cash and are willing to spend it. I always found it weird why people hated Steinbrenner and owners like that so much. I'd love to have him as owner of my favourite team, all he cares about is winning and is willing to fork over the cash to make it happen.
Now the Red Sox are annoying as #### for doing it because they spent the better part of a decade whining and complaining about the "Evil Empire", yet they've gotten to be even worse than the Yankees now with buying players. So I hate them doing it for being hypocrites, but if they want to go wild and give Price 8 years and $240 million, good for them.

I have no problem with teams spending money, but there's spending money and there's being flat out obnoxious and hurting the integrity of the league which is what the Yankees used to do and now the Red Sox do on a continual basis.
I also hate the Red Sox more than any other team specifically for the reason you indicated, so maybe my judgment is clouded. I grew up very close to Boston listening to these idiots whine about the Yankees for 15 years, and in general, am not fond of the majority of the people I've interacted with from the New England Area.
Price for 8 years @ 240m is ridiculous. That's the exact kind of crap that's hurting the Yankees today. Enjoy the back half of that deal when Price is a middle of the road pitcher, or worse. #### I hate the AL East.

Very Similar to the Sabathia ridiculousness. They went 60M above market because he wanted to play in California and are paying for it now.

Sox are better positioned to ride it out then the Yankee's were, Yankee's have a crap farm system so no low $$ players stepping up when their old guys dropped off, Boston has a killer farm system... of course with Dombrowski in charge we'll see how long that lasts since he's more in the line of a "trade all the prospects" school. Fact is, when you have Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley, and Blake Swihart in pre-arb you can afford to make some big committments. By the time they start getting expensive they'll have Ortiz, Ramirez, and Kimbrell off the books with Sandoval soon to follow.
I don't buy the Sox story whatsoever. If they are in fact willing to do it, it would be doubtful they'd release that info. If anything, it's a planted story for the Jays or any other team to overpay for Price, and eat up any potential budget that team would normally have for getting other players. If anything, you overpay for Greinke, but not really Price, though that's debatable.
