Edit: Removed post as it contained a device which is an interface for illegal streaming. I'm not looking to break forum rules and I don't know if it's allowed to mention that product here.

Who here wouldn't pay $6/month for ESPN through an Apple TV based subscription...

I guess they skirt around it by being an interface for illegal streaming. You're paying to be connected to illegal streams. I'll edit the post as talk of those services isn't allowed here.

Have cut cord my entire adult life (20 years) except for a 6 month period where I tried satellite tv. Funiest thing is getting a hotel room where they have TV. I sit there and watch it all night and then can't believe what a time suck it is.

I'm going to have to try that with my wife. The current bonus is my cable company has a known issue where PVR doesn't work half the time. it really makes you wonder why you are paying for this.

Because she dosen't know how to use the Internet?

You can find all the same shows available online on the same channels website. We haven't had cable for 6 years. Its just a waste of money .

Not always legally, and not usually ever 'live'.
To be honest, I think 'live' gets most people. They want to talk about show 'x' with friends and in forums that night or at work next morning.

Can you guys post links to where you can watch tv shows online? I assume you have to have a bunch of links for each network etc. Seems like a pain.

Some outstanding interfaces are available that make it so very easy to watch anything. The platform organizes online sources and make it as simple as a remote click to watch. Some TV shows would be considered a grey area, legally. This is my interpretation only, not a legal opinion. I can watch all network TV for free with OTA HD. Therefore, as far as I am concerned, streaming shows from these networks (from any source) is perfectly fine. However, when I stream a show from a speciality channel like HBO, I'm pirating. I'd be happy to pay for HBO only, for example, but they won't let us here in Canada. This will change.

				 Network or Kodi/Tvmc

Just go to a station on each network the day after a show airs and replay them from there. Download Kodi/Tvmc and just watch them all whenever you want.

I'm pretty much ready to get rid of my tv package, I've watched less hockey this season than ever before and spend 90% of my TV time on youtube or Netflix. I will miss the ability to PVR soccer games on the weekend but I think I can find other ways for my premier league fix.

Anyone use the Xbox One tv tuner? Is it any good?

Also, are free OTA HD channels easy to get with rabbit ear type antenna or do you need something more heavy duty?

Rabbit ear antenna should be all you need in most cases.

For those who have already made the cut and now stream from websites (network stations or otherwise) do you watch on a device or on your TV? And if it is on your TV how do you stream to it?

A lot of it depends on your location in the city. The transmitters are on signal hill, and have a decent range. However if you have Nose Hill in between; you could have issues with a basic antenna.

That being said, if you are going to cut the cord, I'd think it would be a decent idea to invest ~$50 in a decent antenna.
