I must be a real ahole, but I seriously think that this whole show is complete garbage.

Everyone on that show is embarrassing with the posturing and it's hard to watch. Throwing the horns everytime they hear a noise, slouching in their chairs like they are rappers, saying "dog" and "rock out". Just ridiculous all the way around. It's made worse by the manner in which these Supernova contestants do it, it's like they already believe they are playing an arena. They have to pose and throw their hand high in the air like they are projecting to the back of a stadium. It's ok to have confidence, but try not to be a total transparant tryhard ######.

Don't people get embarrassed by their ######bag behavior anymore?

I dont think anyone takes it as seriosuly as you laid it out...but there certainly is talent..even if it comes costumed as you suggest. I also didnt see many "cougars" in the crowd.
Well how seriously do you take it then? Sure there is talent (if getting the right haircut and sound like the generic rock guy/girl is talent)..there is also talent on American Idol. So I see this show as no different from American Idol. Actually, I think the winners of American Idol are better at pop than the winners of Rockstar are at Rock. Therefore, American Idol is probably a little easier to take seriously.

This show is all about the cash grab, and commercial interests. No one is going to be interested in this band in a year. In fact, the band itself probably knows that. This show has nothing to do with real "rock stars". Why would I want to watch some generic poser sing a Radiohead song when I could easily just listen to OK Computer and hear a real band, with real songwriting ability, real emotion and originality. Maybe if these contestants had a shred of songwriting ability it would be interesting. But fact is, people with songwriting ability and creativity wouldn't work for a show like this, they simply wouldn't sell to the target audience. They want packaged, ready to sell, "rockstars". Its souless. Its exactly what's wrong with music today.

Can you imagine any of the following people on this show? Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Kurt Cobain, Thom Yorke? They all would've lost.

I've ignored this thread for days, but then I heard that one guy sing his "backseat of your car" song, and I lost it. Its pure crap. That was a terrible, terrible song.

I'd like to ask Dave Navarro that question. There seems to be no bigger ###### these days.

And that guy was turfed 2 weeks ago.

He was on last night because viewers voted to bring him back.

If you don't like it, fine, but stop being so judgemental. Personally, I don't like that song either, but it appears that many people did like it; so good for them and good for him.

Well given how Magni covered Deep Purple, and how he did Fire by Hendrix earlier on, I think he's the best classic rock genre singer of the bunch. Super Nova would like to market themselves as a new rock/alternative/punk/emo band to try and draw a few extra fans but they aren't. They'll essentially be a classic rock style bank that appeals to an older crowd and gets played as new music on CJAY. Which is fine because like it or not baby boomers make up a huge chunk of the population and are getting to the age where they've got a lot of money to spend as their kids leave home. They'll buy albums and go to concerts and allow the band to make a lot of money. I think Magni is the guy who best suits their style and will appeal to who the bands core fan base is going to be.

The thing with this is when you look at Bob Dylan and Neil Young, no offence to them, but they are old school. Totally diffrent kind of rock then what is going on on this show. As for Kurt and Thom well how can you say that they would not have won when so many of there songs are covered on the show. Sure they did not have the wild stage presence that Supernova seems to be looking for but once again, diffrent type of people and diffrent type of rock.

My favorite was always Matt Hoffer from episode 1-2 when he was cut first. I've listened to his original music and it's great.

Dylan, Young, and Yorke got where they are because of their song writing, not because they were charismatic front men.

Cobain may well have done well on this show. Can't picture him actually being on it though.

Were either of them really homeless? I have a hard time believing that it's anything more then part of their act. It's all part of their "rockstar" image. And since this is an image contest, a very important part.

J.D. was living out of his car for a month or so. Lukas was homeless when we was in his early teens and ran away from home or something like that.

Are you done ruining this thread yet?

There's probably an anti-rockstar:supernova message board out there somewhere you could sign-up for.

Some people like the show, some people hate it. You trying to say that no one should have anything negative to say? When a show is this horrible you better expect it.

Maybe you should find a Rockstar MSN board and discuss how awesome and edgy Lukas the Poserur Rossi was last night.

So do you watch the show? If you say yes....then you're a hypocrite.

If you say no, then you really don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah, I watch it, for the embarrasment and friggin trainwreck it is. I'm a huge Guns N' Roses and Motley Cure fan, I was also into Jane's Addiction when they first popped up. I was curious what these dummies are up to now, worse than I thought.

Mostly I just flip back and forth or watch part of the show while doing other things around the house.
