A lot of the deals seem to have come up early this year. I usually buy a set of headphones, this year I got these:

http://www.thesource.ca/estore/produ..._term=10790714

Got a new keyboard and mouse for the office so I can stop using the ones they give us:

http://www.staples.ca/en/Logitech-Wi...kt9WsONgOcoZEQ

Also needed a trickle charger and this guy was 50% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mo...l#.VlYD5P7JCmR

None of which had to be waited for until tomorrow as they were posted early online.

Googling laptop brands is funny. Every brand has a website or article saying they're awesome and saying they're crap.

This has HP 3rd:

http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/laptop-brand-ratings

frankly, for the $500-600ish I'm looking for, it sounds like it's a crapshoot. I wish I had more time to save so I could jump into that $800-$1000 range but I'm pretty much without a laptop at this point so I need something asap.

Debating this:

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...cad5479e7aen02

But it feels like I'd be spending more out of brand paranoia. Specs wise everything seems worse value wise.

Keep in mind that a lot of the reviews you're going to see are there as a result of the publication having been paid to have the product reviewed.

EDIT: Also, one Christmas present complete: http://www.amazon.ca/Star-Trek-Gener...8417617&sr=1-1

Memex's sale starts at 10:00pm tonight, I'd check there. They carry a lot of ASUS stuff, I'd imagine you could get a decent one.

Mark's black friday sales have started. I was in a pinch for a cheap pair of boots and snagged a $79 pair for $49, not too shabby at all.

I have a ton of gift cards to use up at Best Buy that were intended to be used on a tv until my laptop decided to die, that's why I'm limited to them.

Do you know if they have laptops on sale at 10pm as well? I'm in the market for a new one but haven't seen anything listed for BF deals there, aside from the innards of computers.

MemEx sale starts at 10pm.

By the time the website works correctly, it'll be 12am.

Ya, I'm sure there will be laptops. From what I remember, they usually have a good amount of stock on most things. What is listed now is not their BF deals.

For those interested in ordering from the States this company is willing to ship to Canada, at least with Samsung TVs. Our dollar isn't too great right now but they have a wide range of products and the prices seem to be on par with Amazon.com.

One thing to bear in mind, these products may not be covered by the Canadian distributor and only covered by the American.
