And he is Lidstrom smart, he really is. Just watch him play, recently he's playing nearly perfectly. He doesn't get enough credit for how good he is, if his teammates could think as fast as he does there would be a scoring chance every time he's on the ice.

I'm not an uber fan, just find it an unnecessary qualifier. If Brodie was "Lidstrom smart" he'd be Lidstrom or be putting up a hell of a lot more points. Lidstrom was the best defenseman of his Era. Brodie is only this year the best defenseman on his team. If you want to make comparisons, maybe Keith? Even then that's probably a stretch.

I love Brodie and he's been the flames best player, but he's not Hall of fame smart. Certainly not yet anyways
