Not saying Howard is the answer, but i remember somone posting a list of UFA goalies for 2016, and it looked like a bunch of 1b/back-up goalies. Really don't want to see the flames going with 1b goalies ,or going the Edmonton way, hoping that acquired back-ups magically turn into starters.

Cam Ward, Anti Rantta could be couple guys to keep an eye on in terms of UFAs.
Bishop, Howard, Lehtonen, Pavalec, Bernier, Elliott should all be available in trade as well. Will be buyers market.
I only see 3 teams looking for a tender next year; Oilers, Flames, Leafs. I'd go for Howard or Bishop.

Would Tampa consider a deal centered around Hudler and Bishop? I think Hudler would be a great fit in Tampa. (This is assuming Yzerman can ensure Hudler re-signs in TB).

I doubt it. They won't trade Bishop till the season is done and by then the'll only be trading for Hudler's rights.
Bishop would like take a 2nd with a prospect like klimchuk I'd think or even less.

I have been following this Jimmy Vesey kid for a while now. He was drafted by the Preds, and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker last year. He is a big RW with lots of offensive ability and skated well. He could be a perfect fit for our top 6. He is slated to sign wherever he wants this summer if the Preds cat sign him. The Preds apparently wanted to sign him last off season, but he elected to continue his college career. Seems like he mite be wanting to sign else where.
If he does decide to avoid the Preds, I think the Flames have to push heavy for this kid. He will be NHL ready and has tons of upside.

His father was recently hired by the Maple Leafs. Lots of speculation that if he were to go the uFA route Toronto would be his first choice.

And his brother was drafted by the Leafs in 2014. So, Dads there, Brother is there. Hmm, I wonder where he'll end up?

Where did you get big RW from that link? Looks like an average sized LW.
Would still be cool to get a free prospect like that, though.

Yeah I have heard that actually. I think the thing that Flames would have to pitch him, is having the chance to play and develop with Bennet/Monahan/Johnny... A young forward has to see that as an attractive offer.
Also if I'm dad, I don't know if I suggest my kid playing in Toronto. We know how hostile that environment can be, and the pressure they put on their young guys. Mite be better for him to go elsewhere.

I can't provide links, but from what I've read he has grown to about 6'2 205-15.
He was 195 when he was drafted 4 years ago. He has swapped from Lw to Rw through his college career. So I'm sure he can play either side.

Leafs are going to offer him immediate ice time and the chance to develop with Nylander and Marner.
And if he is worried about hostile environments he is better off signing with Nashville and burning a year off his ELC.

Why in the hell would we want Howard who is a downgrade on Ramo? Howard is terrible.

As far as college free agents go, I want us to have our mini-Panarin/Kane by signing Tyler Kelleher.

Ah yes. Was just having a debate about whether a team would actually offer him a NHL contract or would rather offer him an AHL contract to see how he does first.
5'6'' 160lbs will make a lot of GMs hesitate. No doubt he is skilled though.

Off topic as far as trades go, but while speaking about our smaller players I just saw that Andrew Mangiapane has 28 points in 18 games back in the OHL. Nice to see him keeping up the torrid pace.

He's scoring at an unprecedented rate for himself. What gives? Good linemates or breakout season?

Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey
Dreger: In order for #Sens to get Colin Greening contract off books via trade, "They're willing to do that w/ a prospect, I'm told." 1/2

Dreger: As to what degree/level of prospect, "I think that's debatable. And they're not there yet w/ any clubs." #Sens 2/2

Eat bread looks like a promising prospect. Really came out of nowhere too. Possibly another late round steal by Flames scouts/mgmt?

It's really head scratching. I haven't watched him myself, so I can't really tell you.
UNH lost 3 key players during the summer. Warren Fogele defected to the OHL early on through the season.
The kid was always considered a top end offensive talent. His size was what kept him from being drafted.
