Default "Different" Advent Calenders

So I would like to buy myself the Philips beer advent Calendar I have seen in stores because A) Its a beer every day! and B) I like Phillips beer. However, Its the GF's birthday at the end of the month and we committed to reduce expenses over the next few months.

That being said, I have a feeling I can get away with it as long as I buy her something similar.

Anyone seen any sort of advent calendars that are beyond the basic chocolate ones that I could get her? I have done a little searching and haven't seemed to come up with anything yet.

Davids Tea has an advent calendar, might have a hard time looking for them because they are quite popular.

I don't know why anyone would need anything but a Lego advent calendar.

He said he has a GF and is an adult. That combo usually doesn't play with lego

I'm actually surprised that the large wine companies like Jackson Triggs and what-not don't offer advent calendars with small single serve bottles of their different wines.

From what I understand, wine advent calendars are available at the end of the week. They are only 12 bottles instead of the 24 in beer calendars.

Costco sells a Starbucks advent calendar for about $20-$25. My GF saw it, and it was pretty much an insta-buy.

Edit: Actually the Costco one might be closer to $15, and is in a thin, red, square paper box, filled with various coffees, teas, and a few chocolates. Just noting this because it's different than the one posted below.

Starbucks has one: http://store.starbucks.ca/starbucks-...,en_CA,pd.html

25 ornaments that pull apart with candy inside. Plus a $5 Starbucks gift card.

Crowfoot is carrying it, which probably means that other mid to high level shops will as well. From what I remember it is running around $250, and they are full sized bottles.

Is the intention to drink one bottle a night? Or do you do like I did with the chocolate ones. Forget for 5 days and binge?

I like how you committed to reduce expenses, and the way to get around increasing your expenses, is to increase them even further. If she goes for it, I recommend keeping this theory in mind if you get too hammered and hook up with a co-worker.

KWM Scotch Advent calendar is great - they have a few left.

Oh yeah and then you can probably find a "chocolate of the day" one somewhere for her...I think Bernard Callebaut has one

^ It is pretty awesome, but $400 this year, which seemed excessive. I bought last years and it was great though!

Buy a few twelve packs of 'sample pack' style beer (where they give you 3 or 4 of each different kind), mix up the boxes, turn two of them on their side and you have a beer advent calendar (for 24 days, because lets face it on Christmas you are going to drink rum).

I got one of those Craft Beer Advent calendars as a gift last year and half of them were straight-up revolting.
