It is millions.
I don't think there are too many lawsuits in Texas for $15,000.

Basically pain and suffering I imagine. But there's no lawsuit, it's just a demand letter - pay me $X or I'll sue you. No reasoning required.

According to my probation officer, shrink, spiritual guide, life coach, and ex-wives, I have very little common sense, but even I can tell that isn't a bomb (it isn't a bomb). Again, what is going to blow up? The aluminum? Wires and an LED display don't explode.

Just wondering if this looks like a bomb to the local experts. And also, is post 4 still racist?

wasn't all that free stuff from Microsoft compensation enough? Nobody really wins when schools get sued.

My favorite is when people sue for huge amounts of money and then release statements saying "its not about the money". It's always about the money, always.

This whole thing reeks of his father planning all of this, the fact he just took apart a clock and put it in a box is evidence of that.
Having made my own little tinker stuff as a kid, you don't do that you buy the many parts and sodder them together and learn.

Apparently the boy's sister was suspended previously for threatening to blow up the school. She said that she was angry that she didn't fight it at the time.
The more I read about this, the more it sounds like they were trolling the school. I still don't agree with the actions of some of the adults involved, but I also hope the lawsuit gets turfed.

See the difference? I sure can't.
This leads me to believe that this kid could have planned this out all along for a potential lawsuit: see picture below

Is anybody surprised really? The kid was gaming the system for cash from the beginning.
He'll will probably need to move after this. Texas is probably one of the last places in the US you want to be pulling this kind of stunt.

Yeah, there's nothing to feel good about in this story. The school officials behaved like the morons the kid expected them to be, and the kid is obviously a ######bag.
