I agree on the time limit.
But just so we're clear, it's like quarter to 1 right now, and taht means it's been 5 hours for doozwimp. If he doesn't make his pick, it gets pushed to the end? that right?
I've been checking everyday quite a bit. Don't know why this is taking so long, seems like some days are better then others.

I thought we were taking 14 players all together (8 + 4 + 2) so we only have 10 rounds left. or did I miss something?
Yeah we have 9 left. Sorry my mistake!
I agree on the time limit.

We are still on round 4. This rule will start in round 5. Thanks for checking in.

I agree with the time limit it seems fair. I usually check in about every hour or 2 just to make sure I am not holding anyone up. The past few days it seems like it is taking awhile to get through the picks so hopefully this will speed it up.

TOTF.........thanks for offering to pick my guys for me today, I thought we'd get more than 1 pick today, though!
I'll be checking in once in a while tonight, but if my pick doesn't come up until tomorrow do mind picking for me off the same list?
Thanks in advance.

Say what TOTF? YOU have to input them? That's gonna take me AT LEAST 3 hours to enter the players onto their respective teams.

Im all about time limits....15 hours between picks? UGH! people lose interest in a hurry at that pace.

Wow. I take Cam Ward, then next pick Nekhara takes Ryan Miller. Good thing I took a goalie when I did then, eh? (I picked Ward over Miller because Miller has a better backup, but it was pretty much a toss-up between the two of them for me.)

Time Limit Proposal
Regarding the time limit: I think pushing someone to the end of the draft may be a bit harsh... how about if they go over their limit then they can pick whenever they choose, but any pick(s) made before that time stand?

Well we have to get this thing going. As Tranny said people start to lose interest. It is also unfair to the bunch that check in every hour or so.
I don't know what to do guy.

I agree to the time limit. Seems fair to me.
I have had my eye on Miller for quite awhile now. Glad I got him... I have another trick up my sleeve for later in the draft.

Well my concern is that if we create a really harsh punishment for late picks, it will destroy the integrity of the pool.
Meaning: the people who don't check in regularly will get beaten by the people who do. It's not really a high level of competition if the rules cripple certain competitors. Also it screws up the game if you make decisions based on whether or not you think certain players will be available, say, 20 picks later, when in fact there will only be 10 picks made before you pick again.

Lol... no. I think with Miller getting the big contract, he will be the main man in Buffalo. Biron won't play enough to be valuable in a pool.

Ok so what do we do then? Frankly I'm tired of waiting around 12 hours between picks because a few people don't have the courtesy to check in regularly. And if I have my eye on a player and my picks coming up and a guy that missed his pick suddenly comes back and picks my player I'm going to be ****ed.
I don't think its too harsh at all and wouldn't be necessary if people would either check in or send their lists. But those that have chosen to do neither - so no sympathy from me.
Its either that or we start replacing the people that aren't around with folks that will be.

Too illustrate. Since midnight last night we've had 3 picks. 3.
That's brutal.
The penalty has to be stiff so that we motivate people to make their picks in a timely fashion. Even w/ a time limit we can't have 6-8 hours between picks anyways so i hope that most are still going to be doing it much more quickly.

I agree. Penalty needs to be strict... people just need to pick it up, either check more often or send a list to someone. I'd love to make at least one pick per day.

Up to this last round I was very good at checking in. Sorry for holding up the draft. If I dont make my next pick by the end of the evening I'll be sure to PM someone with picks.
It would be a little harsh to knock someone off their slot. We need to remember that on weekdays people go to work, school etc and cant make a pick untill a little later in the evening. (Granted PMing would be a better idea than waiting to make a pick personally)
Aslong as we all pick it up after 6:00(big time) we should be fine. (I'd rather make my pick personally(go on guts))
Sorry again for slowing things down.

I've already made my suggestion, see above. We could also have everyone send a long list of selections to a third party, and if someone goes over their time limit, the guy at the top of their list gets picked.
Edit: By long, I mean 180 players (9 rounds x 20 players)
