Ex-Flames, how are they doing?
I'm always interested in how our previous players are doing, if you are a fan of any of these teams, please let us know what you think of some of these players lately: (Also feel free to add ones I missed)
Byron:
10 GP, 2 goals, 1 assist = 3 points
Guess his biggest game was when he played us..
Baertschi:
19 GP, 2 goals, 5 assists = 7 points, Ice time: 10:54
Seems about the same as he was doing with us, maybe slightly better.. Only -1 so maybe not too much of a defensive reliability so far.
Prust:
11 GP, 0 goals, 5 assists = 5 points, Ice time: 11:51
Iggy:
20 GP, 7 goals, 8 assists = 15 points
Keep on chugging iggy!
Tanguay:
14 GP, 2 goals, 4 assists = 6 pts
Comeau:
20 GP, 1 goals, 5 assists = 6 pts
Phaneuf:
21 GP, 2 goals, 9 assists = 11 pts
Seems to be not doing so bad this year.
Cammalleri:
20 GP, 7 goals, 14 assists = 21 points
Stempniak:
20 GP, 4 goals, 12 assists = 16 points
WOW rejeuvenation time for Cammy and Stempy
Berra:
Whole thread about him, great start and maybe falling off a cliff now.
Bouwmeester:
21 GP, 1 goal, 5 assists = 6 points
Any others of interest?

Got to give McElihnney credit for eking out an NHL career. He's shown remarkable longevity as a backup notwithstanding his stats. He must really put the work in during practice and off ice to have stayed with it this long.

Can't believe Bourque is still playing over Glencross.

Sure wish Cammalleri was here still. He would have sure solidified the top two lines, and I'd much rather pay him $5 million instead of Raymond @ $3.125 + take your pick of dead cap money

Sven doing slightly better than I thought he was, stats wise. Any idea what Canuck fans are thinking of him? If he finished season with 40 points that is much more than I would have thought. He is not on that pace, but also not an impossibility.
What is Cammalleri doing with all those assists?
Byron not playing much. Has Montreal been super healthy up front?

This, Stempniak scoring more then Iginla, and Cammalleri a PPG player?
I don't understand hockey anymore.

General consensus is similar to when he was here - shows the skill from time to time but is invisible most of it.
You also have to normalize his stats for whether or not he is playing the Oilers. Against the Oilers Sven is an 80 point player, against everyone else...20.

I thought the Flames offered him more money than the Devils but would only go 3 years and Cammy wanted long term?

Stupid Tom, there is a decent chance he would have developed into an NHL defenceman here. He would have been given a decent opportunity if nothing else.

I'm surprised about Tanguay. A player of his skillset normally retains his skills as he gets older. He was one of the team's best pointgetters last season. He's not playing with Iggy anymore, or is he in a bottom 6 role?

Agree, but Cammy really wanted to move back east for the tail end of his career. Not much the Flames could have done.

I thought that years ago, but now i really think it would not have mattered and he is what he is. I am actually surprised he has not gone back to Europe yet. I'll give him some credit for sticking it out.

Last year was his first season after his ELC. Even though he only played in about half the games in the season, he did get claimed off waivers twice and spent the full season in the NHL.
He probably looked at this year as his breakout year. If he ends up spending the full season in the AHL, I wouldn't be surprised if he decides it's time to go home.

I have many Canuck friends, and they can't wait to see him gone. Lots of comments about how he refuses to go into the tough areas, is a perimeter player and gets knocked off the puck too easily.
Sounds familiar.
