Brandon Bollig challenged #Blackhawks enforcer Jonathan Toews to a fight last game. "He said yes, but I backed down. I got scared."

Brandon Bollig: "I didn't want to get beat up by one of the best players in the league."
(He was joking, people.)

I've got this weird feeling today that this is the game that Giordano is going to turn things around and the flames are going to start rolling. Gio with a goal and an assist in 4-2 flames win.

#19 leads the 'Hawks in PIMs and fights...which says something about my guys' lack of "grit"
Teraveinen out with "upper body injury"...left midway through the Oil game...Dejardins dresses to play with Kruger/Shaw...Desi/Kruger/Shaw have been an excellent line in creating forechecking pressure, but, abysmal in finishing...TT with Kruger/Shaw, at least gave that line a guy that can put the puck in the net...
Mashinter/Garbutt/Kero 4th line has been useless...Kero shows flashes, the other two belong at the Rock...Kero has been in the PK rotation.
Dano hasn't clicked with Toews/Hossa, yet, we Chi fans are still waiting for that to happen.
Panarin/Anisimov/Kane have been as good as any line in the league...Kane is on a 14 game point streak...Panarin is around 8 games, I think.
Roszival is clearly the weak link on the D...if you can get your top guys out against Rozi/Daley, and attack Rozi's side, you WILL score. The other 5 guys have been solid to spectacular.
I Gotta work 1500 to 2300 MST tonight at the hospital...so I will be missing from GT...will watch the game on DVR into the wee hours, and post my observations in the PGT or Game Takes...
Hope it's a fun game to watch...our wide open style lends itself to a fast paced game, with odd man chances both ways.
Good luck to your Flames, and my Flame fan friends here at CP...catch you guys/gals in the early AM.

We break Kane's point scoring streak tonight, Ramo gets his first shutout of the season. 5-0 Flames, Benny with his first career hatty, Gio and Gaudreau score the other 2.

I agree completely...but, yet, there are many 'Hawk fans that pine for the Bob Proberts or Dave Mansons of the world...
Myself, I just have never seen (and I attended my first game in 1965) or understood how MY big, talentless goof, punching out YOUR big, talentless goof, affords "protection" for talented players. Much better for a 4th line that causes "match up" problems for a team, or to use to develop talented youngsters at NHL speed, with limited minutes/limited risk.

3-1 Flames. Monahan with the hat trick, the one goal against is when Keith clears the puck on a PK and Ramo gets Toskala'd. Solid game for him outside of that though.

It could be a big one for the Flames tonight. Over the first 10 games of the season the Flames were 2-7-1, and over the next 10 were 5-5-0, leading into tonight's game. Over the last 10 there was the stinker 6-3 loss to Colorado and a surprising 5-2 win over Pittsburgh. A win over the defending champions could really give the Flames a bump in the right direction heading into the next 10 games. A 7-3 run would be nice to see.
Flames play with some jam tonight, 4-3 in OT, Frolik with the winner.
