The French reporter from TVA was on Fan960 and made sure to mention "they are not trading PK Subban or Erik Karlsson here" saying much of what he read online is major over valuing of Hamonic.
He thinks the Jets are the front runner followed by the Flames/Oilers

Back on topic. Calgary isn't getting Hamonic. If they do, I'll eat a big plate of delicious food.

@NicholsOnHockey: LeBrun: In talking to a lot of teams in last 24 hours, Garth Snow's asking price is high - and I think it should be. #Isles #Hamonic
@NicholsOnHockey: LeBrun: "I don't think it's just the Western Canadian teams either. I think Snow, #Isles have spoken to some U.S. teams as well." #Hamonic

Did I just read some people think Ryan Strome will be better than Sam Bennett? Strome is a decent player but his upside is 2nd line C at best. Bennett has the tools to be an elite 1st line C. I would trade Monahan before Bennett although the Flames should trade neither.

@NicholsOnHockey: McKenzie: "Winnipeg and Edmonton would be two of the absolute front-runners that would want this player." #Hamonic #Isles #NHLJets #Oilers
@NicholsOnHockey: McKenzie: "I would be very surprised if the #mnwild were not talking to the #Isles about Travis Hamonic."

If this has been going on since the summer, I would suggest that Snow is asking for too much.
If he only wants an equivalent top 4 D back, then he's really limiting things. Edmonton doesn't have an equivalent. Vancouver has Tanev, but that's a pretty lateral move. Why trade a guy you like, who fits in your room, for an equivalent guy. Calgary doesn't have anyone, as Brodie and Hamilton are better and Russell is worse and a UFA. Winnipeg could move Buff since he's too expensive for them to resign, but again, for the Isle's he's a UFA, which they probably don't want. Trouba is 4 years younger and already about as good, so why make that move from Winnipeg's perspective. That leaves Minny. They could move Dumba, but he's 4 years younger and projects to be the same or better player in the near future.
To sum up, Snow might have to revise his asking price, because all of these teams seem to have passed at this point. And it's cold hearted to say, but whatever this personal issue is, it could be weighing on Hamonic to the point where it's affecting his play. Three assists in 19 games is well below his pace from last year. The amount he is on the ice, he should get more points than that just by accident. If you're a GM, do you want to pay top dollar for a guy who's head might not be in the game?

That sounds like a fair trade, not sure why Minny needs to add to that. Dumba for Harmonic.

I missed anyone saying he will be better than Bennett but it certainly could be possible.
I am also not sure why a guy who scored 50 points as a 21 year old and was well over a PPG at the AHL as a 20 year old only has 2nd line potential at best.
He seems at that 2nd line level already.
If that is the case some (not necessarily you) are going to have to adjust

He won't be better than Bennett, I don't need a crystal ball to see that much.
Even if he became as good a Bennett we don't need him, not sure why we would even target him. Bennett and Monahan will be the 1-2 punch down the middle for years, we are set there. Okposo would be a much better target if you can ink him because he fills the top need of this team. Can you imagine that guys goal totals with Johnny feeding him?

Well Strome can play RW. Pretty much the guy you were asking for earlier in the thread. He is a player the Flames could use depending on cost

I don't think we should target him either because he would cost way too much and as you said we are pretty good at center with Monahan and Bennett, although I would gladly move one of Strome or Bennett to the wing if we were to add him.
I don't have the confidence that Bennett will for sure be better than him. They both have high end offensive skill and both have impress resumes so far. I would bet on Bennett being better but would say at best it's 60/40 right now not sure how it is definite for you outside of homerism.

Was not aware he could play RW. Still, the cost to acquire would be too high don't you think?
