Our PP drives me insane. Other teams get a PP and I am concerned for 2 minutes. We get a PP and its just "fingers crossed we can get one"
- Wideman has the green light on the point to shoot over Hamilton and if that is not true, someone needs to talk Denis and let him know its not must shoot each time you get the puck because we all know it is going wide anyway. Dougie has an equal shot and hits the net so lets start working him for the point shot
- More times than not, a guy carries it all the way in and forces everyone to hit the brakes on the blue. The player with the puck either then dumps it in and we have no momentum into the zone or tries to get too fancy and loses it before we can get our guys in for help.
- The break out from our own zone involves 5 passes and a lack luster sense of urgency for the 2 minutes.
I miss last years cross the red and dump it into the opposite corner with 2 forwards on that side going full speed. Most of the time they beat out the d man and even if they didnt, the 2 of them would outwork the single d man.

If hudlers hurt, why is he playing? He's not helping anyone, least of all himself

Powerplay Quarterback

Bennett was outstanding tonight. There were shifts where he reminded me of Iginla - not necessarily in playing style (though there are some similarities) - but in the way that he could just own a shift. He would take the entire shift and dominate. It was incredible. Gaudreau is a special talent but I like Bennett's game better.
Edit: Also thought Giordano was noticeably better tonight.

We've all been there - Think you know a girl well at school cause she talked to you a couple times, pass her in the hall, she calls you something close to your name, you try to act cool but die a little inside. It's all good, he'll get over it.

Good game boys! Not perfect but lots of positives and 2 points.
And for a 180....
Wideman is annoying to watch this year.

Time to sell Jones while he's hot.
Hudler, if he's playing hurt is quite selfish. Clear the way if you're hurt.

Wideman is the same Wideman he's been every year of his tenure here, including last year. Last year he had two hot scoring streaks (one early, one late) and was ice cold for months in between other than the big winner in LA.

I agree. Hes always annoying to watch, just more so this year.. Wouldnt be so bad if the team was winning more and he wasnt 0fer 100 in shot attempts this year guess.

The rest looked good. Jones and Colbourne were great and Bennett is quickly becoming my favourite Flame. Love his game.

I thought Gio was overall bad but did save two goals tonight so at least he is contributing someways.
As with most if not all fans loved the Jones-Stajan-Colborne line. Jones sucked the previous years here but I will give him credit for producing this year.
Loved Bennetts game as well. You are really starting to see that edgy/bulldog style we heard about from juniors. The guy is relentless at times.
Brodie obviously continues to impress. His skating is a treat to watch at times it is shocking to all if sudden see him so far up the ice in such a quick amount of time.

Also in regards to the Hudler/Gio playing hurt, if so they need to sit. Both are playing below average and if it's because of injury I would rather they sit for 5-10 games and get right then keep playing.
I am not sure the drop off to Smid/Grant (or more likely Raymond) would be that big right now with their play.

Bennett at times was truly impressive.
Has outshone Gaudreau the past 5 games. And that isn't easy.
