Police saying they are running for nothing according to CNN. The fear there right now is insanely high and for good reason. Id be nervous to be out and about in Paris right now.

Looks like a false alarm on CBC, at least at Place de Republique.

The attacks in Mumbai in 2008 lasted for four days. Better hope that hasn't given ISIS any ideas in Paris.

An after attack was a huge fear of mine following the last attacks, when they held the "we are not afraid" vigils. I was expecting something to happen then, given the large crowds, who were essentially sitting ducks.
Looks like this was not that, and hopefully still doesn't happen when the inevitable gathering of unity does come.

Here's a link to a good quality video of people fleeing Place de la Republique. You can't hear any gunshots going off. Someone screams and then everyone starts running.

Some media outlets are saying the passports found were fakes. I don't think this is confirmed yet though.

Official information released by the Ministry of Defense of France says today 12 jets dropped 20 bombs in the heart of the Islamic State, in Rakka, east Syria. Planes took off from Jordania and the United Arab Emirates. The opperation was lead by the US and France. Targets were a command center and a training center used as a recruiting station and ammunition depot. Both targets were succesfully destroyed French Air Force is active in Syria as part of operation "Chammal" since the 27th of september but this seems to be a massive strike and perhaps signify an increase if the war effort from France. - See more at: http://m.liveleak.com/view?i=d33_144....JlYHiV18.dpuf

What I don't understand is did they just find out the location of those targets? If not, why did they wait so long to drop the bombs on them?

They need to be relentless with their bombing if they know where ISIS is training and I find it hard to believe they just found out where those targets were.

...so they knew about these locations all along and only just started destroying them? Odd.

how much command centers do these guys have? Russia said they blew up many command centers already and I'm pretty sure the US blew up a bunch too.
