Just going off the top of my head, Gretzky's career high of 92 goals was when he was 22. Mario's 85 goal, 199 point season was when he was 23. Sid's career high of 120 points was as a 19 year old. OV's 65 goal season was when he was 22. Nieuwendyk and Selanne's career high in goals were both in their rookie seasons. When did Perry win his Hart? 24 years old?
Not a stretch to say a player's offensive peak is in their early to mid 20's.

Can't find the point production, but here's the scoring chance data:

I think measuring it in number of minutes is difficult too.
There are allot of young players that get insulated offensive zone starts with less than 15 minutes/game and put up points. Who later grow into 21 min/game players getting all situation minutes and putting up the same stats.

Yeah, point production from offensive forwards is a 21-27 window, peaking fairly early. Obviously, there is an assumption that players get better in other ways, but for one-dimensional offensive players, you better make hay early - and forgodsakes, don't pay them big UFA dollars.
Also, Taylor Hall turns 24 next week, and Eberle is 25. They are what they are, and anyone who thinks they are still young and getting better, well... they don't seem to be getting better defensively, and offensively, this is pretty much it.

What a beautiful shot. He's got a very Jeff Carter-like release.

Monahan has to be at least consistant with his effort for the rest of the season. He had a great game tonight but he has had plenty in this 1st month in a half in which he was lethargic.

What is this graph? Is it averages of scoring chance by age etc, or just totals? If it's totals, it means absolutely nothing other than their are more players in there early 20s in the league than older players.

I like to imagine this thread is like a crowd full of people of which I am one (I did say he needed to find another gear and has been struggling.) and Sean walks up on stage looks at all of us for a long 30 second pause then says, "To all you doubters.... you were sayin'?!" lifts his hand, drops the mic to the ground, and then slowly does the hand crank motion as his fist turns over and flips the middle finger up into the bird.... and then he walks off stage with a big grin on his face as we all applaud.
Well played Sean! hehe.

It's more like,
Sean Monahan says, "Before the game I had four goals. Now I have six, because I scored twice."
Reporters are stunned.

The y-axes are labelled as per 60 minutes of ice time, so total number of players at each age isn't a factor. Of course the numbers can be skewed at either due to a small sample size of players getting minutes at age 18 or 38...

It's also representative of the 'average' forward, not the elite group who likely have a very different pattern.

I like when Sean Monahan shoots the puck because when he shoots the puck sometimes the puck goes into the net.
