Not just sympathy.
Trudeau intends to abandon the other nations fighting ISIS. He can't make a show of strength or solidarity without coming off as a hypocrite. All he can legitimately do at this point is offer sympathy. So in that respect, I can't fault his speech tonight.

Not bravado but you want your leader to appear strong. Not appear like a pacifist hippy refusing to even use the word terrorism. "We'll do whatever we can, oh, except actually fight alongside you."

Can we just get a Justin Trudeau Witch Hunt sub-forum on the site and keep the trashy posts in one area?

Trudeau said Canada was prepared to offer France whatever assistance it needs.

Scumbag.
That wasn't the presser that was his statement beforehand.

Have any groups claimed responsibility yet for the attacks?

If this was the 1940s, maybe it would matter.

Canada will be fighting alongside France if France invokes Article 5 of NATO.

Those of us that are commenting are just voicing our opinions as to what we wish the leader of our country would say or do when one of our allies is attacked. Not really a witch hunt.

Nope, either they don't want to, or they're waiting for more stuff to happen.

Leading us right into another 10 year war with no winner but hundreds or thousands of dead western troups and thousands of dead civilians?

It worked so well the last 3 times! Maybe it will work this time!

Except this time Russia is right in the middle of it. Not at all good where this could go.

Man, those of you going after Trudeau's incredibly brief speech on this really need to take a step back and re-examine your priorities. Embarrassing.
