Highest Muslim population in Europe, plus a history of messing up and colonizing countries that have high Muslim populations.

Just sort of musing here, but I think France really holds onto their traditional culture more than let's say the UK or Germany, and therefore islamic terrorists feel they need to attack France more?

As far as I know, head scarves and other such islamic head pieces for women are banned in France. Maybe the terrorists take exception to that. They are twisted folks.

Still don't know if these are islamic terrorists, but multiple reports now claim people heard them shout allah akbar.

Where have you seen this??

That is so nuts. I can't even imagine how terrifying that would be.

They have a large population of descendants of refugees from North Africa who live in impoverished ghettos. The state has totally failed to integrate these people or give them any opportunity to get ahead. Whether that's there fault or due to racism within the system is up to debate but probably a combination of both.

The French prison system is also predominantly filled with Muslim inmates. Apparently, its a breeding ground for extremism. Many people enter on simple drug or robbery charges, but leave fully fledged and trained extremists. Similar to ghettos in the USA, there are ares in France where the police have little to no control.

To many outside of Europe, "closing the borders" may not seem like a big deal. But in unified Europe, they take great pride in the ability to keep their borders open and free with their neighbors.

Closing the borders is a big deal.

This is so tragic/scary/angering.

It sounded like he said they know where the threat is coming from and who the terrorists are. I may have misheard that.

EDIT: Beaten to it.

Just read that it's the first time the borders have been closed since WW2. Unbelievable.

Some wonder why people don't trust Muslims and are against the "refugee " going to their country. Because they will never be accepted and they will never accept local culture. Merkel is opening Germany up to be the next attack
