I didn't say it was confirmed. I said that's what British news is reporting.

The only reason I posted it was because half the posts in this thread were saying if it's islamic terrorists, the refugees will have it tough(er) than they otherwise would have due to backlash.

Lol, at CBC's coverage. "We understand there was a metal band playing, 'The Eagles of Death.'"

I expect stupidity and jumping to conclusions but we can still try to mitigate that sort of thing and try to discuss what are all going to be unconfirmed reports that should not be treated like they're in any way confirmed.

I dunno, but I've never met a Muslim who wanted to murder me, and I'm Jewish.

Seems people have odd biases and morbidly latch on to anything that could confirm them.

I see one post so far that has done that. Out of 4 pages. On an issue that is ripe for jumping to conclusions.

I was being somewhat pre-emptive because of the inevitable -

How could this be anything other than Islamic terrorists?

I'll leave the waiting to confirm for the news channels, until then I'm comfortable taking a pretty educated guess.

Well someone is to blame for the attacks, and people are speculating. That happens when theres a catastrophe and/or tragedy like this.

At first I suspected it was the French. Now I think it's islamic terrorists.

Wow I'm racist now because I speculating who could be behind the attacks.

You're generally pretty smart but this time I gotta disagree. A horrible situation that is depressing and morbid no matter who is doing it, sure there's a tendency to look in a certain direction but it's far from pitchforks and torches here.

I would guess that it's Muslim related, but that doesn't make it inappropriate. I work with Muslims that are personal friends, rationally a globally impactful display of violence like this is going to stem from one of the more powerful extremist groups. No need to be PC to a fault, if any of our Muslim friends start to be persecuted (as they have been before) then it's time to get in an uproar. The situation just needs to end, 100 people being held hostage, a much bigger issue than any small biases shown here.

I'm not saying it's not related to Islam or ISIS or, I don't know, Neo Nazis or whoever. I'm saying it's unproductive to speculate and what makes more sense is to discuss what's at least being reported, much less confirmed.
