Well at least the Caps are my second favorite team...
This was our make or break road trip and it has been a complete disaster. I'm assuming that continues but hey, they're capable of winning against anyone so maybe they pull something out here.

Is it really too much to ask that we play Engelland and Smid with Wideman taking a seat?

I'm just happy that we get to watch hockey on a Friday night
Go Flames.
I hope Monahan has a big game so all the Monahan doubters can shut their gobs.

Alex Ovechkin's career stat-line against #Flames: 11GP, 9G, 10A, 19P, 2GWG.
I have to imagine that Ovechkin has better points per game numbers versus the Flames than he does against any other team.

I think the bolded can be said for most stars/fringe stars in the NHL, we're always the team you want to see on the calendar if you need:
a) a pick me up game
b) career point (goal/assist)
c) break out game
d) first nhl goal/assist/point
e) first shutout
f) first hat trick
g) break your losing streak
the list goes on and on this season..

I wouldn't mind the Flames trying Hamilton with Brodie for a while. Gio is not looking like himself and Hamilton has struggled to fit with Gio/Russell. Brodie has been amazing this year and they should see if he can help Hamilton get his confidence. Slide Gio with Wideman and Russell with Engellend.

Made plans tonight without any regret at missing the game.
I'm not going to bandwagon and quit until they start winning, but I'm exhausted by them right now.

Pft, he's not even 2 points/game against the Flames.
Is someone able to find what team Ovi is most prolific against? That would be interesting indeed.
EDIT: Found it on Yahoo Sports. I haven't dissected the data yet... but Ovi is pretty darn prolific against, well, everybody.

Would love to see a 3-1 win, but I feel we're going down 4-0 tonight. Washington is the much better team. Our guys do not do well under pressure at all.

I'd love to see a line of Gaudreau-Bennett-Jooris. The other lines could be whatever.

Agreed. I think he's coming around. He's skating much better and getting chances. I think he's still overthinking things a bit as one of his strengths is his quick release and he's holding the puck a little bit too long before shooting.

He has the exact same stat line against the Ducks as he does the Flames, his highest point per games teams. He's put up the most points against Winnipeg/Atlanta with 42 goals and 42 assists in 57 games.

After last nights performance he doesn't deserve to see the ice. I turned off the game when I saw him flip flopping back and forth and not even skating when he was trying to clear the puck when he turned the puck over. Just terrible.
Please Hartley, please sit his @ss in the press box.
I don't think they played terribly last night, there was bright spots, some constant pressure. We didn't have very many quality scoring chances and when we did we didn't capitalize at all.
One mega bright spot last night had to be the Ferland, Grant and Jooris line. I think we might have something there for our 4th line. I love the energy and the possibility for that line to score some goals.
Hamilton is coming along but he just seems way too easy to play against for a guy his size. Someone needs to make him angry or shake him to wake his butt up. I like his offensive upside but right now, he is just too easy to play against. He looks soft at times. Please don't be the second coming of JBo. I want him to be mean!!!
Ok, well after that little tangent. I think the guys will come out even hungrier tonight. Gio won't take any stupid penalties and we will be more disciplined as a group. If we aren't, Ovi will destroy us on the PP, that is a given.
3-2 flames win. It won't be pretty, but we will win this one. Monahan, Hudler and Ferland score tonight.
Go Flames Go!

I remember Joe Sakic always had a special talent for hitting milestones against the Flames.

Optimist: We are only 8 points out of a playoff spot with 65 games to go
Pessimist: We are on track for 53 points this season - worst in Calgary Flames history

Sigh. Man I want so bad to boblieve, but the way this team keeps folding like a bad poker hand I'm gonna guess 4-2 Caps with an EN goal to put the nail in the coffin. Please PLEASE prove me wrong Flames.

He did seem much more engaged in puck battles during the 2nd period. Maybe we should get Johnny and Mony to give him purple nurples to rile him up before tonight's game.
