It isn't until I started talking about these games on forums that I realized how varied peoples issues are. I never would have guessed something like this would be a problem. I'm not at all saying it's invalid, I just never realized things like this were even on peoples radar. Accurate equipment falls into the same category.

Online pausing should make everyone mad. I don't want to have to stare at my screen doing nothing for 30 seconds multiple times a game while some dork named w33dbro69 takes a bong hit and checks his text messages.

It sucks, but I like to ability to pause when something actually important comes up.
You can only pause 3 times in a game, limited to 30 seconds a pause. Pretty reasonable if you ask me.

I literally never noticed it until people here brought it up. Again, I don't say that to discount it, it's just something I never really paid attention to.

Having one pause in VS I could understand. Is it 3 now? Didn't it used to be one?
4 pauses in EASHL shouldn't be necessary. Why not just have your player taken over by the CPU if you need to leave the game for a bit instead of making 11 guys sit and wait. If you quit, the CPU takes over the player so it's not that hard to implement.

Last year, it was 3 pauses at a minute each. That's down to 30 seconds each now.

This is definitely a good idea.

so the game is ok, better than last year's. Am talking strictly gameplay, haven't really done inside be a gm yet, that usually starts when the flames season is done .
one thing though, i really think the current team of the NHL series has run it's course. the foundational issues of this game have been prevalent year after year, which leads me to believe that the issues are deep rooted into the game's framework itself. The team does some aesthetic or front level updates every year to try to cover up for these issues, but it's not enough to resolve.
the fact that the puck is glued to a player's stick is brutal (Fifa has had a disconnected ball from ball carrier for years now, on previous gen). This would allow one to really get a different feel when handling the puck as a 3rd/4th line grinder vs high end skill player.
body contact is brutal in the game. hockey is a contact sport, and unless you have very strong/big players, body contact will typically dislodge the puck and puck carrier . the fact that once your in an animation of a deke or protect puck that you are invincible from hits has been a problem forever, and makes the game ridiculous.
passing is completely arcade like (even in hardcore).
AI is ridiculous, especially defensively. Playing defence isn't fun as being positionally sound isn't rewarded (due to issues noted above).
i really think it's time for new blood in the development group of NHL, the product is getting quite stale as it feels like the same game at its core for years now, with different levels of lipstick on it.
my 2cents as an avid player of Hut (online/offline), some online vs, offline season, be a gm modes.

I'll be honest, the more I play the game the more I dislike it. When playing Be-a-pro the defensive coverage by your teammates is just maddening. The D-men always lose control of the puck when they go behind the net and when they don't lose it, they don't move the puck and turn it over. Just a horrible game mode for game play IMO. Marginally better when you take control of the entire team though guys stray out of position constantly.
Likely a lot better as EASHL but I simply don't have time for that (I need to be able to quit at the drop of a hat and don't like to annoy online players).
Back to Fifa and other games I guess.

The AI has always been a sour spot on the NHL franchise, and even though it is a little better in the offensive zone this year the defensive AI is soul-deadening.
As a single player for the entirety of this series my only tactic is to stay in position and just pray and wait for a turnover.

Yep pretty much. I'll stay in position and if my linemates join me in that spot (as they often do) well then I just really hope for the save and whistle.
It's a shame because I was enjoying it out of the gate when I got it as a gift. But as you say, it was soul-deadening and I've had to move on and with a good chunk of my 360 library now playable on the One I have more than enough to keep me entertained (along with Fifa which I think may have taken a step back this year on the field).

The A.I is actually much improved, if you mess with the strategy settings in game the A.I. can at times be better than player characters. Turn up the defense (square then L1) to high pressure and they are better at stopping the d rush than human players and on offense try to practice passing between the points. The A.I. is much much better this year than in previous years you just need the right settings.

Finished the Colorado collection because I saw a TOTW Gaudreau. I got super luck and pulled it! He is so fast with 92 skating.

The new patch is awesome, I see some variance in shots now (missing high/off net) Wideman is terrible at hitting the net in the game.
Deflections are satisfying to see now.

Nice - is he any stronger on the puck? I've love to use one on my squad if he is.
I picked up a Datsyuk for my squad - he's absolutely unreal.

Yeah he is plus he has the 5 slots to boost his checking. Unreal balance and can turn on a dime too. Pretty much like having a P.Kane card. I put a Captain card on him and he is hard to stop.

so not a big HUT guy, play mostly offline seasons.
That being said, i have basically created a full flames lineup in HUT, with some fun additions.
I have come about some luck by getting a movember foresberg card, and now am sitting on 100k coins. what's the fastest way to make this multiply?

I had about the same amount of coins so I finished all the collections I could except the ones that have 250,000 coin players in them and spent it all on MOV monahan, MOV Brodie, MOV Hamilton and have about 40k left to spend on a new goalie possibly Rinne. I ended up getting T. Johnson, M. Duchene, G. Landeskog and TOTW Gaudreau out of collection packs.

Trying out HUT offline seasons. Disconnected from EA servers in the middle of a game, end up losing the game. An EA problem, not mine.
This is a perfect example of why EA, as a developer, fails on so many levels in terms of experience. Turned me off of HUT forever.

Yep, getting dinged with the loss and then having a contract end and add to that your goalie is fatigued. Oh and then getting relegated a division if you're on the cusp.. Just a mess of a game.

I reverted back to playing offline with the original tuner and it's more fun for some reason.
They gotta change the dev team and foundation of the series. It's gotten too stale, the game gets boring way too quickly niw.
