Given the weird way they portrayed Glenn being eaten up, just looked akward, my money's on the fact that he's still alive.
How many more episodes remain this season?

3 more to the mid season break.

Yeah it's starting to look like they are saving the " is Glenn dead or alive " answer until the mid season finale. Hopefully it's a jaw dropping moment sort of like when they finally found the little girl in the barn.

Filler episode for sure, but some key development in key characters, mostly Alexandrians, of which I'm expecting only 3 or 4 to survive and join the main group.
The big question is will the town survive or not? If it survives, will it turn into a fortress? How will the wolves impact the outlook of the group going forward? How will Morgan's experience affect the decision making of the group?

Yeah it is starting to look that way. They are really dragging out the closure on his death.
I really hope he isn't alive.

It certainly seems to be setting up for another season ending siege battle, just like the Governor and the Prison.
I still reckon we have not seen the last of the Wolves and believe there is a "mastermind" at the head of the Wolf Pack.

They couldn't all be balls-to-the-wall episodes. Last night was definitely a character builder. Maybe not the most interesting one they have done, but it revealed some new stuff. The token lesbian gets a gal pal, Rick and Jesse are hooking up, neither Ron nor Carl know how to fight, and Maggie is pregnant.
Plus, the sewer walkers were pretty badass.

i'm finding it hard to care about any characters. Glenn would be a sad loss given that he's been here since day 1, and connection to the other existing characters.
after X seasons of watching the group fight and struggle vs the walkers, this whole alexandria concept is too late for me to appreciate. all the characters seem so weird given that we, the audience, have been part of the walker struggle since day 1. I don't think i can truly appreciate their point of view at this stage of the show, as such, i just don't care about any of the new characters.
They simply are slowing down the progression of the show to me.

I think there are 5 episodes until the mid season break.
Snoozer episode last night, things will most likely move slow now until the mid season cliff hanger of zombie or alive Glen being revealed.

Yeah I am inclined to agree. I could really have accepted a place like Alexandria in season 1 or 2. It would be acceptable to me, but now, yeah I just don't buy it.
I am interested to know where Enid went.

It was weird how Maggie gave that speech in the tunnel about accepting that she will never get to know, and giving up. I thought that was a really good way to say to the viewers that hey, some times these things happen and you just don't get to have closure. Maggie just accepted it, now you do the same. Then they go and reverse that at the scene on the wall, I was like, WTF? I rewound it to see if I missed some indication like a flare indicating Glen might be alive...but nothing. They created closure, then backtracked.
Also, the scene with blond girl stabbing the walker, then going into a wierd monologue felt really awkward. I think there were a few awkward monologues in this episode. Different writer?

After the conclusion of the episode, a promo said "Only 3 episodes left in 2015".
With the preview for next week revolving around Abraham, Sasha, and Darryl it looks like we might see a perspective episode or two centered on various characters. Essentially, we are seeing the fallout of the half-failed/successful plot to redirect the quarry walkers.

I actually think the contrast of Alexandria with the main group is greater and makes more sense at this stage of the show. We are seeing a conflict between the way things were and the way things are now.

Scene at the wall? I'm not sure to what you're referring.

The scene was awkward, but I think that was more on the director than the writing. Only Jesse and a handful of other Alexandrians are beginning to come to grips with what the world is like now, such as stabbing an undead Betsy after she committed suicide because her husband is dead (with no consideration for the others in the town).

I just struggle with accepting how naive they are, as if they have no idea what is happening outside the walls.

It was right after the commercial, her and the guy she was with were standing at the top of the wall looking out, said something about not giving up on Glen then they went down and erased Glen and Nicolas's names.

Well, they certainly are naive, but they hadn't been attacked yet by other survivors, and they hadn't had to deal with huge herds of the walking dead because of the quarry trapping most of the walkers.
With that knowledge, it becomes much more plausible IMO.

We agree to disagree.
They have been sending out parties to look for others and scavenging. It isn't like they have been shut up completely with no outside contact.
I think this is more a case of them not wanting to believe what has happening outside. If you don't talk about it, it isn't going on. What is that saying about "tell yourself something enough times and you believe it to be true"?

I can agree with that.
Big difference though between going out and scavenging, compared to watching the governor cut your friend/mentor/fathers head off, or travelling to a supposed safe haven only to have them herd you like cattle in order to slaughter and eat you. Not to mention the countless encounters with massive herds of zombies Ricks group has had, and because of the quarry the Alexandrians have only dealt with small groups of isolated walkers.
Obviously the Alexandrians are willfully keeping their own heads in the sand, but nobody has come along to force their heads out of the sand until now. That happened to Ricks group (and us the audience) long ago.

This. How can seemingly capable and strong looking men have no idea what goes on outside? This is years in, how does the leader of the community not know that you need to stab walkers in the head to kill them? Very strange.

It's all a plot device.
If you over analyze anything in this show its doesn't make sense. Realism isn't what makes the show great. It's about presenting scenarios that reveal something about human nature.

^She knew, she was just taking out her obvious psychological trauma on the thing.
Anyway, here's a bold prediction: Rick teaches Ron how to shoot, Ron then shoots Rick... or, for a slight swerve, Carl!
