That is insane.
Too bad Monahan did not bunt it wide right as Hudler was ready to spike it and that would have most likely been a first in the NHL...a mid air tic-tac-toe...

Also he was +2. But mainly he threw Sid into whiny mode, which threw the entire Penguins team into whiny mode.

Unbelievably, there are actually different aspects to a game than just speed.

You want a difference? Stand him and Raymond in front of the net or against the boards against a guy like Byfuglien or Getzlaf or Weber and tell me who you think has a better chance at coming away with the puck or winning the battle? With the absence of both Bouma and Ferland at this point, he's a nice option to drop into the lineup when needed.

Now...name your dozen examples where Bollig is a poorer option than Mason Raymond against those bigger and just as fast teams as the Flames.

I wish I had the skill to do it, but I'd love to see this GIF with the flash and then Bennett is spawned to the other side of Cole and carries on with the play.

Johnny was electrifying. Monahan starting to come around. Bennett just wow and Backlund's best game by far.

Cole also took a huge dump in the corner on the empty net goal. Johnny picket up the puck and scored.

really? I didn't see him act like a baby at all. He was frustrated at himself but hardly baby material.

Yeah, don't know about baby material, but after the game he was interviewed and he complained about the penalty call - called it a supine - and then mentioned 3 games in 4 nights several times.

Every team has these situations, and the results don't differ much from the rest of the schedule. So it just makes players sound like whiners when they use it as an excuse.

Re 3 in 4 nights:

The Flames just played 5 in 7, including finishing it with 3 in 4 nights - and had to travel for every one of the 7 games.

How did they fare in that final game? Won it with 8 seconds left in regulation.

And Bollig excels at exactly none of them. There's also more to hockey than luscious beards

Bollig will not be in front of the opposition net because the Flames literally never have possession of the puck long enough with him on the ice to necessitate it. I certainly hope he's never, ever on the ice with Getzlaf or we're fishing the puck out of our net.

1. Scoring. I can post stats if you like
2. Passing. I can post stats if you like
3. Limiting goals against. I can post stats if you like
4. Limiting shots against. I can post stats if you like
5. Speed
6. Gaining the zone
7. Possessing the puck
8. Increasing overall offense. There's stats for this too
9. Powerplay
10. Penalty kill
11. Farming
12. The limbo

There's just no need to exaggerate like this.

Neither of them are particularly useful players but in our bottom six Bollig brings grit and size which is something we lack through the rest of the lineup.

Everything else you mention in Raymond's favour is extremely marginal as the things you claim he excels in come at times few and far between.

Last year in the playoffs, Bollig had two goals if I'm not mistaken where Raymond had none.

I'll vote for Bollig over Raymond and your "12 examples" statement was just hyperbole and unnecessary.

You know, I was questioning bobs take when he reunited the top line last night but after the game the Flames looked to have two legit lines. That's going to be a dangerous top 6 in the future. We just need someone to replace Huds when that time comes.

You would keep Bennett on the wing long term? As in past this season.
