The insane Isles just sent Strome to the AHL.
We need need need to free this guy and I'm sure if Wideman would waive he could probably help us get him.

I would be fine with Treliving paying a pretty penny for Strome. Russell+Porier

Just because the Islanders have sent Strome down doesn't mean they are interested in moving him - they just need to get his game going.
For a guy like that the conversation starts with the same guys: Brodie, Sam, Monahan, etc. A pending UFA dman and above average prospect ain't gonna do it.

First enough but once you talk names like Brodie and Monahan the islanders are now adding to those proposals as they are quite a bit above Strome thus far. I know adding Hudler probably doesn't get it done but I would do that as well.

Strome scored 50 points last season, his first full one in the NHL.
So I don't know how you can say our guys are "quite a bit above Strome thus far".
The dude was drafted 5th overall and has progressed really well. Monahan is exactly the type of piece they would want.

Slightly off OT. Avs send Zadorov to the AHL. He has struggled to stay in a pretty bad top 6 with the Avs and has history of problems in Buffalo.
I wonder if the Sabres ruined him by rushing him.

Monahan is younger and put up 62pts so I see any way that is an even trade. I will agree my Russell, Porier offer is way off.

I think the Flames should trade a bunch of really crappy players for one really awesome player, and then throw in a 3rd.

Maybe start a package around 1st + Backlund when Janko is ready? But I think other teams will offer much more. He's a physical 50-60 pt winger that can play in a top 6 role, playing well above his contract value. I'd say that's a golden asset.

Our 1st this year is looking to be lottery territory.

Flames would be crazy to move their first this year, no matter what deal it is.
IMO, obviously.

No way thar the 1st can be in play this year. 1st because it's a lotto pick most likely. 2nd I would not like to see them give up 1st's in back to back years.

the one exception I could see is if it's moved in exchange for a young RW that's slightly more established... Filip Forsberg, Tyler Toffoli, Anthony Duclair, Mark Stone... anyway, I'm not saying any of those deals are 1:1, just suggesting it cold make sense to move the 1st rounder for a player like this.
