I'll keep a soft spot for West Ham because I like that they come from a beat up part of town. But if it comes down to it, Liverpool it is.

I'll give you credit for picking a team and sticking with it. Now when softball season rolls around you can rock a Liverpool cap with me!

Ha! I have to say that this thread is well-behaved and reasonable compared to some footy threads I've frequented and us Scouser fans have been on our best behaviour lately!

So thanks to all of you for not being petty, bitter jerkfaces about every little thing.

Welcome aboard!

You join us at an interesting time. The football had become pretty dire over the last season and a bit, but things are starting to look up under our new manager, Klopp. Its nice to have a highly regarded manager in charge who has a track record of success.

Its not going to be an instant turnaround, but there are already some signs of improvement. We are looking a bit more solid defensively, and there seems to be more confidence throughout the squad already. After today's win against Kazan in the Europa League, we have now won three games in a row in all competitions.

Liverpool have a long history of having world class players, but the last few years have seen a few club legends retire, and a couple top players move on to other teams with more recent success. At the moment, I wouldn't put any player on the squad in the world class category.

The closest we have to world class would be Coutinho #10 and Sturridge #15. Coutinho still has a lot of inconsistencies in his game still, but he is one of the only players capable of changing a game by himself. Sturridge is a fantastic goal scorer, but he is rarely healthy enough to play these days. If he could ever stay healthy he could be one of the top two or three strikers in the league, but I wouldn't count on that happening.

Beyond those two, two newcomers in Benteke #9 and Firmino #11 look like they could be big difference makers this season. Both have made the team look much better when playing, and can add a lot to the attack.

Henderson #14, our captain, has yet to play under Klopp because he has been out with injury, but he has a lot of qualities that should enable him to flourish under the new manager. And in defence, our best player IMO is Sakho #17, who has looked immense since the manager change.

Don't worry about that.
As soon as they are any good and see a way out they'll be gone.

Get a jersey of a crap player. At least you'll get more value out of it.

And educate yourself on The Slip™. It's folklore.

Good luck.

Read the article, technically Campbell was a free agent.

Well Kane grew up cheering for Spurs so chances of him signing with Arsenal are probably between slim and none. It's easy to make those comments in that situation.

I just hope the Gunners continue their defensive mediocrity on Sunday.

Don't think there are any Leicester fans here, but what a streak for Vardy! Scored again today which I think is 9 straight with a goal.
