Volek wasn't doing so hot in the pre-season so they went out an grabbed Collins, who is now the starter. With Vince Young the backup, Volek's too expensive too keep around as third string.
I love the Titans but some of their moves lately have me confused and wondering why I love them so much. However, I've never been a huge fan of Volek and wouldn't actually care if he was traded.

Volek's career with the Titans was virtually over when they drafted Vince Young. They gave him a shot to start for the season and he couldn't get it done -- just one TD pass in four games. But Young is clearly the future of the franchise...
It looks like the plan is to start Collins but to play Young a few snaps each game (and he's already seen action today -- but was intercepted on his first series). I figure Young will be the starter by Week 8 (home to Houston, after the bye).

Collins started, but Young has seen the field as of now (3/4, 27y, 1 int)
Collins is 5/14, 62 yards, 2 int.
I can't see how anyone on that team trusts that the coach/management are in sync.
Volek deserved the chance to be the starter - he may as well be released so he can get a chance with another team.

I hope they give Young a chacne to start before their first win. That would gurantee they go 0-16.
How they choose him when Cutler and Leinart were still available is bbeyond. He has about 0% chance of being a successful QB. He is an awful passer, has no idea how to read a defense and his physical skills are no longer superior enough to allow him to make up for all his deficiencies. Just an awful selection.

Perhaps KC will come calling now depending on how long Green is toast. I'm just hoping he goes somewhere as he's my backup QB.

Man, Kansas City is looking like at a 3-13 season at best now. Time to axe Carl Peterson after years of mediocre results.

They say he's fine, but if they went shopping they'd go get Todd Collins from Washington I would imagine.

Meanwhile, I can here the calls for Jay Cutler in Denver all the way in Wichita.
The game wasn't on TV here so I can't comment compltely on his play, but the normally restless Broncos fans will be calling for Jake's head after today.

I watched it, he didn't look too good and made some very very untimely turnovers.
3 ints, 1 fumble. The worst part was, in the 2nd half when Jake needed to start throwing some more, he was absolutely horrible. At one point he was 9/11 w/ 1 INT, but he finished with 13/26 with 3 INTs. That should tell you how bad he was in the 2nd half.

Yeah, Denvers offence couldn't have done much more to lose that game for them. The good news is that their defence held pretty well all day. In the first half I think St.Louis had one drive that started inside their own 40. Denvers D even managed to hold St.Louis pointless after a fumble had the Rams first and goal on Denvers 4. Oh well Denver gets KC next week and I bet they rape the Chiefs badly. Like I'm talking 48-3 style. Not looking forward to this season at all for the Chiefs....0-16 is possible for them....yuck.

Yeah, I listened to the game on the internet, so I knew the defense was stellar for the most part. Not unexpected either. It's always hard to judge an offense though if you didn't watch the game.
Javon Walker better stop dropping the ball too. You don't make that kind of cash and drop balls. By my count he had 3 drops in the game.
