McDavid? Who is that? Never heard of him. Is he any good?

I think this injury helps demonstrate why players just can't go balls to the walls all the time. McDavid was trying to beat two defending players, something he could do with his eyes closed in junior. Instead of putting himself off balance by trying to deke and shoot, he should have slowed it down a little to set something up. Skill and size-wise, he is more than NHL ready, but it's those little mental things that help prevent players putting themselves in those situations.

I have to say it again though, he is a tough bugger to get up quickly and not look bothered at first.

Connor McDavid will be quite the attraction at the Edmonton children's hospital.

I guess when the rest of Oilers visit they can stop by to get their pictures taken with him.

The amount of hilights I've seen, over and over and over.... I can honestly say that I can't think I've ever seen anything like it on a sports channel.

Even Russell Wilson throwing the game losing interception at the superbowl got less coverage than McDavid broken collarbone

Sportsnet offered a "very special welcome to Connor McDavid" in the intro to the Jets-Leafs game. Even if he is watching, that's just pathetic.

I bet HNIC will still be talking about him throughout the intermission reports in the duration that he is not playing

Its actually kind of sad and more than a little morbid.

Hes not dead or anything. They know that right?

Endlessly pining for a rookie who injured himself on a reckless play while the rest of the league continues to move along seems...I dont know, kind of sadly desperate?

I agree to that affect that I emailed Sportsnet to complain of this overwhelming bias

I am absolutely not kidding, on Edmonton am (CBC) this morning the sports guy said something to the effect that this could be a blessing in disguise for the Oilers as McDavid could be fresh for a deep playoff run.

I was at the dentist today getting my teeth cleaned and she asked is I wanted to change the channel, I was like " nah this is fine" she looks up and asks "oh do you follow politics?" I'm like nope. So I was watching the news, some international news of some sort with Trudeau talking, I couldn't hear. Then I see at the bottom of the screen some international headlines scrolling by " VW tells dealerships not to sell certain diesel models then next was Mcdavid out for months...then on with more.. Much more important international news.

That was the only hockey related news in all of the program. That being said - Iam very ok with this injury of Mcdavid. I hope he gets an infection. Not a life threatening infection but one that keeps him out for the next 7 years.

Edmonton is no good.

seriously? Enough of this "very happy/ok with the injury".. "i hope he gets an infection" blah blah blah crap.

Wouldn't you want the oilers to lose with their best players? Now they have "excuses", and as much as you don't want Edmonton to succeed (and they won't with that back end of their team), McDavid is fun to watch.

also it's poor taste and being a horrible human being.
