Because the Broncos finished their drives in the endzone. The running game was finally effective which reduced the passing attempts for Manning. Much more simplified, open game.

Broncos just picked up Vernon Davis from the 49ers.
Exact details to come, but initially saying 3 late round draft picks

My brain wants to tell me that's an amazing trade but am I wrong? Not a bad option for one last kick at the can I guess, better than the other options on the team right now

Surprised seeing this but Vernon Davis has never had a 1,000 yard receiving season. Definitely would have thought he'd have one or two in there. It's basically a risk free move for the Broncos, Davis and a 7th for two 6th rounders. If he doesn't give much he's a FA too.

There are a number of reasons why he doesn't have huge receiving yard numbers.
The offense he was in was either primarily centred around the run, the WRs were unable to get any separation so teams doubled him, the offense was (is) spectacularly inept, and he is a really good blocker so with a bad o-line he was kept in to block a lot.

He has had some injury issues and that is a wildcard, but he has super talent and with a QB for the first time it will be interesting to see how he does, even with him over 30 years old.

That's exciting, I've always liked Davis. He won't replace J. Thomas but he's better than what we have, both at blocking and receiving

Why not just rest up Luck until he is healthy. He looks terrible and having him out there killing his team and his confidence isnt helping anyone

Yep, hasselbeck won both his starts. Why not play him til he loses while Luck is repairing? Then, again, it's Chuck Pagano. And, Luck is ridiculously overrated.

The NFC South was horrendous last year and the AFC South might even be worse this year. Colts should feel blessed to be in such a crap division.

Luck has regressed to almost RG3 levels... if he is as hurt as they say, what is the point putting him in there...

Matt Hasselbeck is the AFC South's best QB lol. What a world. Luck better be hurt otherwise this is a pretty staggering step(s) backwards.

what a pathetic franchise, let your QB who is hurt play and continue to lose confidence and suck, while you have a backup QB a team like Dallas would kill for.... Irsay/Grigson/Pagano, what a brilliant brain trust

You know you suck when you are benched in favour of Blaine Gabbert.

I think the move to Gabbert is a terrible decision. Obviously, Kaepernick is struggling this year. But I have a hard time moving on from a QB who has already shown himself capable of leading a team to the cusp of a championship (in two separate seasons) in favor of a guy who had a 5-22 record in Jacksonville. It's the same way I feel about the Griffin-Cousins situation in Washington. Why move on from a struggling young QB who has previously played at a really high level in favor of someone who never has, and never will, reach that level? (No, my view of Cousins hasn't changed just because he lit up Tampa Bay.) The 49ers are going nowhere this season regardless of who plays QB; shouldn't they at least try to improve the QB who actually has potential?

Three deep plays in a row with more than two minutes, and on the right side of the two minute warning, when they just need a field goal to tie.

Why? It doesn't even make sense

Bailed out on 4th down though.
