Five moves sounds good to me.
As for deadlines, are we talking about weekly moves or the waiver deadline (last time before your team is set)??

Yeah I think it would be good to have at least a few moves just in case of injury. I would think like a max of 5 should do it, if that sounds fair?
Another question is trades. Will they be allowed and if so there should also be a deadline for that as well.
Just my thoughts.

Waiver deadline to set your team is what I mean.
Trade deadline and waiver deadline can be the same.

that all sounds good. 5 is a reasonable number of moves.
what if a player comes off the injured list and 2 or more people want to pick him up?

We're talking about the CP pool, not hockey pools in general.

I would rather not have roster moves during the season. Just because I was under the impression that would weren't going to have them and that has played a part in my draft strategy (though I will gladly admit that that part is not very big).

the general consensus so far is that it's a pretty good idea to allow a couple moves. while allowing roster moves may affect your drafting strategy in a negative way, I'm sure you'd be grateful if Jagr goes out with a concussion in October. it's a good safety net to have.

Sorry, but considering you only initiated this after drafting Stillman... I don't see adding waivers now as something that's fair. You made a mistake, and yes it's just a game, but that's precisely why I feel we shouldn't bail you out.
Edit: Just wanted to add that whilst majority rules, it can't define right and wrong. This is just my opinion, and I don't have the final call, but it's a firmly held opinion.

It's not to bail me out, it's to bail out anyone who has an injured player. every pool I've ever participated in has allowed player movement. it keeps the race close and helps mitigate the bad luck of having a key player on your roster injured.
like I said above, if you lost Jagr or Brier, wouldn't you want the opportunity to replace some of the lost production?

Allowing some moves during the season will help ensure people stay in the running and therefore stay interested. Which is good for everyone.
Frankly it should've been decided before, but it's not like the rules are changing mid-stream...it simply wasn't discussed.

Well looks like I lose this one. Jiri, would you mind making adding the list by team to your first post in the selection thread sometime? If you don't think it's worth it that's cool too, but it would be fun to see how other people's teams are developing. Thanks! No problem if you feel it's not worth it.

Well I will admit. I was not planning on having any moves allowed during the course of the season. However, it seems that the majority of people would like to make some waiver moves and some trades as well.
Grant's idea will work. Should we allow a maximum of 5 waiver pick ups prior to the NHL trade deadline? Keep in mind that if you drop a forward, you have to pick up a forward, etc.....
The way it works with Yahoo if I recall correctly is that the first person to dip into the waiver pool gets bumped to the end of the list for waiver eligibility. The next one who selects then gets moved to last etc....

No one is gone. The question mark is from an old thread, and the list was copied and pasted over. Just ignore it!

Ok thanks TOTF, I thought it might be a typo or copy/paste thing but just wanted to make sure. That and I must be getting antsy for my pick...
