Ramo > Hiller
He beat Hiller for the starting job in the playoffs and got it done against the Canucks. I think if he starts on Friday he will also start on Saturday and win both

I still think Ramo can be a legitimate starter. I don't think he will be anything more than just a competent starter though, but I do think he is better than he has showed thus far in the season.
Ortio needs to be worked in slowly this year. If he takes the ball and runs with it, then great. I just don't think you keep throwing him out there when the team isn't playing well to begin with. That can lead to ruining a goalies confidence. I like Ramo, but I think you don't really worry about 'ruining' him as much as you would Ortio.
Either way, I hope both goalies make a run of it for the rest of the season. I don't think Hiller is really better than Ramo. I don't think Ramo is much better (if at all) than Hiller. Hiller is older, and without a doubt this should be his last year with the Flames. Ramo COULD still potentially kick around in the organization another couple of years (or even more if he starts improving) until someone else takes over. It isn't a stretch to think that Ramo still has 'some' development left in him is what I guess I am trying to say, and thus (IMO) should have a bit more value to the Flames at this point than Hiller.
Flames just need someone competent (average) to fill the net until Ortio, Gillies, McDonald, Schneider or someone else through trade/FA is brought in. I have more faith in that Ramo can potentially be that filler more than I have faith in Hiller at this point.
Hiller is a vet who should be stable in net at this stage. He isn't. He wasn't in Anaheim either, which is why Anheim chose to part ways with him in favor of two younger and more consistent goalies at the time.

I really hope this means they're going to give Ortio the starting position to run with.
To me Hiller=Ramo=bad goalie. One may be better than the other but that's like arguing who's the tallest midget, neither are real starters and if this team wants any kind of success they need a real starter.

Both need to go but Hiller is the lesser of two evils. Atleast the guy can actually win a game.

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller has a lower body injury and will be out a minimum of one week.

He looked really shaken up. I though it'd be a 4 to 6 weeker.

I rarely can tell how bad a goalie is injured by how they act on the ice (or leaving it). Sometimes they look like they've been killed and play the next day. Sometimes they finish the game but then are out for a month.

Glad Hiller is only out only short term. For me, the less we see of Ramo, the better.

IMO Hiller is slightly better, but they are both well below par, especially this year.
What's interesting to me is what Hartley does if Ortio plays well tonight - will he go with him back to back nights? It's not like he's been overworked.

To be honest with you I'm so sick of arguing between them that I'd like to see them both launched into the sun.
Lets go with the goaltending tandem of Ortio and Oitro, Ortio's evil twin brother.

I think no matter how you look at it I don't see The Flames going anywhere with Ramo or Hiller. You need strong goaltenders to make the playoffs and win a series or two and the Flames are barely getting competent goaltenders. I'm hoping they might be able to go after a big name free agent next year

In this situation, you gotta just roll with what we got. Rotating Ortio and Ramo for now.

Well i hope this game illustrates why ortio isnt the answer. And the previous games illustrated why hiller wasnt the answer. The only way out of this is Ramo.
Honwstly it blows my mind that management sent ramo down. And imo this is the best possible situation...ramo is going to get a chance to run with the job. No 3 goalie system. No win and your in.
Hopefully they give ramo 10 games and he responds like the talented goalie he is.

That ship sailed a long time ago. He failed and that's why he was sent down. The only way out of this is to trade for another goalie and hope he's the answer or ride out the trio of suck until one finally stops sucking.

If Ramo is the only answer then there is no answer.
We have already seen multiple times that Ramo isn't the answer.

It'll be interesting what happens when Hiller recovers.
3 goalies again?
Hiller + Ortio tandem?
I wonder if Brad trades for a winger and goalie at the same time?

Pretty sure all 3 would clear waivers. I think whoever wins a game or gasp 2 in a row gets a plaque, a key to the city and fancy dinner. Then waive the younger of the two remaining, IMO.

An added difficulty is you don't really have a spot in Stockton for a guy to go down and get a bunch a games in for awhile.
I thought that would buy them time if they sent Hiller down when he was healthy again but you don't want to steal time from Gillies.
I think it would depend on Ramo, if he is able to play decently maybe you decide to keep him up, if he is his usual crappy self its easy to send him back down.
