My goodness... Russell is a team leading -16. The next closest Dougie Hamilton at a -10. That is just not right. Trying to trade him, sign him or whatever, with play that poor you're doing the team no good playing him. He deserves to sit.
Also, we need a goalie ASAP. The tandem that bailed us out many times last year is just not here. Not sure if a 3 goalie system really messed with their minds, but my goodness this is just horrific. I've never seen such fragile goaltending. Any shot from the point and I'm cringing because I know it has a high chance of beating them clean.
The positives tonight were our offense. We played well in the first two periods, dominated, got lots of chances. Only to be let down with our piss poor defense and goaltending. It's sad how what was supposed to be the best defense is literally the worst defense in the league. How is that possible?

He said why no hitting. I even bolded that part. We are missing our 2 biggest hitters.

That is a very good question...I wish I had the answer. So far Hamilton has been a disappointment and Russell/Wideman have been exposed as the defensive liabilities that they are. That leaves 2 games of Brodie, Giordano (who still doesn't look quite right), Engelland (definitely not a defensive superstar), and Kulak (who wasn't lighting the world on fire in his stay with the Flames).
Right now I don't have any answers and that is frustrating.
I don't want Treliving to blow things up because all of the players that we could trade are performing so poorly that the return would certainly not make the team any better. Firing Hartley? If it was any other coach, I'd be calling for his head. But Hartley has earned a chance to try to put out the dumpster fire.
I just don't know.

I would sit Raymond, Backlund and Russell and play some young players, just to make some changes

If you've actually been watching this team for 20 years then you are seriously off your rocker if this is the worst you've been through.

Lack of confidence in your goalie. I bet if they started getting steady goaltending whether that be one of the three or through a trade they would be alot better. They must be scared ####less knowing any little mistake could end up a goal because their goalies can't stop a beach ball.

Seriously. I'd give anything for a goalie that has a ridiculously average .900 Sv%.

Just prepare yourself for maybe a decade of this, think of it as comedy (it is hilarious on some level), and enjoy watching Gaudreau before he demands a trade.

Future is very bright. Stay calm.
We have about 7 core pieces in place. Need about 6 more with at least 2-3 in our farm system already. The rest are fillers or role players.
Gaudreau, Bennett, Monahan, Colborne,
Giordano, Brodie, Hamilton,
Two of Poirier/Klimchuk/Jankowski/Mangiapane will pan out as top 6 scorer
One of Gillies/McDonald will be our franchise goalie.
Two of Kulak/Hickey/Andersson/Kylington will be top 4 Dmen.
No need to panic. That's exactly what all the other teams want us to do.
No Marc Savard trade please...
Lets get Russell/Hudler/and one of Ramo/Hiller back on track so we can get picks back before trade deadline. 2016 is a good prospect pool to put the last pieces in place...

The sad part is, .900 is way below average.

I actually think Scrivens is a decent goalie. He's no Kipper but I'm sure he would have done a better job than this.

The way we play isn't working. I wouldn't be opposed to a shake up soon. A firing or a trade or a waiver move.

Actually, why is waived Raymond still with the team and on the power play? If he's barely good enough to be on the team, he should not be on the power play.

Wait, Scrivens is available? He couldn't be worse, like seriously could not be worse.
