One defensive mistake makes him awful? The mistake was in the offensive zone even.

Bollig takes stupid penalty after stupid penalty. I'm no Bollig hater either.

Raymond isn't spectacular, but at least the dumb penalties should be minimal tonight.
Yup.

Hasn't been physical, hasn't stood up for teammates (Hit on Gaudreau by Methot for example), and has taken stupid penalties.

No need to be in the lineup if you can't do the few things you're actually here to do.

Yeah, I was legitimately pissed off that nobody stepped up on that hit. Teams are starting to take liberties with JG and we've had no push back.

We laugh at Burke's insistence on truculence, but I've yet to see any push back at the start of the season, that makes teams not want to run over our skill players.

The Flames are playing way to soft, and not standing up for each other.

I'm not looking for an early 70's Flyer's response to it, but at some point you have to have the whole

If they bring a knife we bring a gun
if they hurt one of us, we send one of theirs to the morgue.

The only hockey bets I ever make are with two friends, one who is a Wings fan and one who is a Habs fan. Since I won my bet on the Wings game, I'm predicting a win tonight in this Habs game.

No doubt this is but one of many adjustments the Flames will have to make to account for the game changing speed and tenacity of Paul Byron.

You guys are acting like 6 goal Paul Byron is some sort of generational talent that we need to form a gameplan around. He's barely an NHL player.

The goal posts will take care of him just fine.

You probably don't need to cause we all know how terrible Kipper was in the shootout!

I'm sick of everyone giving up on this team so early. I know they have been terrible but give them the benefit of the doubt that they can right the ship!

This is a better version of the same team that came back from losing 8 straight to make the playoffs last year!

The skaters are starting to play better and fit into their roles...

There is no denying we could use another top 6 forward and steady goaltending but give Ortio a chance to prove he can or cannot provide the latter... and don't let the shootout make that determination for you!

GFG!!

Couldn't have said it better myself. We're with you boys!

I'm sure he was referring to his whole body of work.

He is looking like a replacement level player so far.

Crap that likely means Ramo is in against Edmonton. It would be nice to have a goalie who knows where his net is most of the time against McDavid.

Yeah, The Flames have to win this game. No excuses. 3rd game in 4 nights for the Habs, and their backup goalie. Lets go.

So you are saying the Edmonton Oilers are better than the Montreal Canadiens?

Their forwards worry me more, yes. Overall, obviously not.

Why though? The Habs are first in the league in Goals For by a fair margin.

Habs are better at scoring goals than the Oilers. (and keeping them out too)

In his defense, the refs call ridiculous penalties against him. That's why he was so good in the playoffs, they finally swallowed their whistles and let him play hockey

Count me in the camp that believes it's still not too late but it has to start tonight and continue through tomorrow. As bad as things are, look at Anaheim - Anderson has no wins in 8 starts despite a .932 save percentage and a 2.05 GAA. If we had that goaltending we'd have a few more wins. No Ducks player has more than 3 points in ten games. The teams above us in the Pacific like San Jose, Vancouver and Phoenix are not going to run away as long as the Flames come back to playing like the way then can and at least we have the inside track on the Ducks who I still think are top competition for third in the Pacific despite their horrendous start.

I was watching to see what happened after that Methot hit on JG. Bennett immediately skated over and threw a hit on him, and as the play transitioned a few seconds later gave him a bit of a slash. Methot shrugged it off, because of the size difference. I'm sure even he was expecting more of a response.

Good for Bennett for doing more than the rest of the team.
