Nurse kills intruder with bare hands.
When I first read this story, I figured it was similar to the situation in Alberta last year where a German tourist used karate on some would be robber in his tent trailer in a campground.

Then I read this....
Haffey, about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, had convictions including conspiracy to commit aggravated murder, robbery, drug charges and possession of burglary tools. Neighbors said Kuhnhausen's size -- 5-foot-7 and 260 pounds -- may have given her an advantage.
It's Friday, a slow news day, what can I say?

A claw hammer is pretty much what the average person would describe as a regular hammer. The "claw" part is for taking nails out after you've fata'd up something.

Inside a backpack Haffey left at the scene was a day planner with "Call Mike, Get letter," scribbled on the week of September 4, the affidavit said. Michael Kuhnhausen's cell phone number was jotted on the inside of a folder, it said.
I'm surprised he didn't add "Whack boss's ex" to that little shopping list. Note to self. When on a hit, do not detail your day's activities in your Palm Pilot..... I admire organization but in this case.... not so good.
