SNL is a comedy after all. It will not survive only on smirks caused by smartass snide remarks in Weekend Update and Hillary Clinton's Keystone XL jokes for any meaningful period of time without the actually funny stuff that makes people laugh outloud. Looking at SNL history, the best skits that viewers remember over and over again are characters' physical comedy.
Regarding the Myley Cyrus hosted episode, my wife and I really enjoyed the Millennials skit. As parents of "those kids", we could truly associate with almost everything going on in it.

That's a good way of putting it. And he just seems fun. Joyful, goofy, like you said, a pleasure to be around.

Not a great actor though. I don't think he has much acting future like some of his former SNL colleagues. If you noticed, he can't hold a straight face. His lips are always on the verge of breaking into a laugh, which is contagious.

Yes, in 2004, when The Apprentice was popular.

I would watch a Mighty Ducks remake with Russ Tyler as the coach.

Kenan Thompson — Russ Tyler
Disney/SNL
Kenan Thompson has the career of a much older man. Seriously, after introducing the world to the hypnotic dance of the knuckle puck, Thompson went on to appear n Heavyweights, Good Burger, All That, Kenan and Kel, Fat Albert, and, since 2003, Saturday Night Live. He’s 37, and people are already waiting for him to “retire.”

True, but then again neither could Fallon, he was atrocious for that. But unfortunately Keenan doesn't possess Fallon's looks or charisma, and who's celebrity and career (at least in the mainstream eye) will most likely end after he leaves SNL - aside from the odd, random cameo in movies/TV featuring former SNL actors.

But Fallon could do some great impersonations and his music stuff was funny too. Keenan has no talent comparable to that.

The Trump episode was pretty weak. It started off good but the skits quickly ran out of steam. The laser harp one was absolutely terrible.

Trump was terrible.
Sia has a great voice. Her schtick is a bit annoying, though. And that weird sidekick was just creepy.

I think SIA was on recently, maybe even last season. I don't get the appeal or why she would appear again so soon.
Trump took his lumps - some shots verged on being mean spirited. Maybe that is deserved, but he agreed to host and bring a large audience. Taran and Hammond were mocking him pretty hard in the monologue. Che took a shot at the host, and mentioned the Trump protesters outside 30 Rock. Larry David yelled out Trump was racist.
Trump is not an actor and was reading off cue cards, as most hosts do. I did like him in the Drake dance bit. The tweet sketch was a good premise, but could have been executed better.
I always like Update appearances by Jones and Drunk Uncle. There is a lot of depth to the Drunk Uncle character.
Bad Girls was hit and miss. The father at dinner playing his recorded songs started well but ran out of steam.
Looks like we will see a lot of Larry David as long as Sanders stays in the race.

I think Sia is great and I really like listening to her music but I can't watch the performances and dancing. I just don't get or understand the abstract, interpretative dance.

Marc Maron's two hour interview with Lorne Michaels:
http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episod...lorne_michaels
In the history of WTF, Lorne Michaels is talked about more than any other person. Now he is finally a guest. The man behind SNL goes through it all, from the reason he started the show back in 1975 to the reason he keeps doing it. Meanwhile, Marc tries to get some closure on the meeting he had with Lorne 20 years ago that has haunted him ever since.

Ugh, Kyle Mooney ruins everything. That guy is not funny.
Not a bad show otherwise.

Don't think I have seen something of his fall so flat than that 'comedian' bit...I get what he was trying to do (for once), but wow that was bad.

His pope bit was even worse...he got a little bit of sympathy laughter yesterday.
Someone tell him that awkward silence is not funny. It's just awkward.
