In every case? No. In this case? It was obvious long before then.

Easy to say when you have no connection to the child who got beat up for pulling out their cellphone. Like I said to Polak, I bet you would be of the opposite opinion if your kid got his/her ass kicked like that over a cellphone then not getting out of their desk. Also, no need to call people pricks

Even the article in the OP doesn't mention a fight:
Quote:
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott told WIS-TV that the school resource officer (SRO) was responding to a student who was refusing to leave class. "The student was told she was under arrest for disturbing school and given instructions, which she again refused," Lott said. "The video then shows the student resisting and being arrested by the SRO."
|
The only place fight is mentioned is in the title of the video "Cop fights student....." and in the comment section.
So the OP used a bit of hyperbole, it appears.

Usually, it is a suspension, then review, and consequence.

They did all of this. This officer also has a history. He was found innocent in One incident but has a lawsuit filed by another student that begins in January. It also has been alledged he has only harrassed black students. When it happens once you think "benifiet of doubt" but when they keep coming over the sametging somethings not kosher.
This student will also be filing a lawsuit against the officer and teacher aswell.

Okay fair enough, then let's have some consistency. If he wasn't doing what was caught on film, he wouldn't have been fired. So it's his fault, right?

Anyone who supports what the officer did should not have children.

Sitting silent, completely still and with no weapon is being a dickbag now? Interesting, I guess that makes us all dickbags. Not putting a cellphone away clearly warrants being thrown on your head.

Uh... Why can you be arrested for breaking a school rule? Am I allowed to make some arbitrary rule in my home and call the police whenever whenever somebody breaks it?

If this was your kid no way you would think it was appropriate (Which it isn't)
BUT
Where have we come as a school system where the teachers need to call cops and the students still ignore them?
I was a #### student and was constant;y removed from class and put in the hall or a seperate room, and I was still terrified that my father would find out!
There's a serious issue where student are challenging officers and refusing to leave their desks

The issue lies with the teacher.
Whatever behaviour the student was exhibiting was the result of some sort of antecedent: they may have been bored, seeking attention, deliberately being confrontational, whatever.
In the modern teaching environment we're taught over and over again to deal with the antecedent which leads to the negative behaviour. The teacher's failure to do this (and failure to make any attempt to resolve the situation with something other than an utterly absurd and pedagogically unsound punishment, ie. "leave the classroom") is where the fault lies.
Bad teacher, bad kids.

I wonder where a few of you would rate on the psychopath scale?A lot of creepy lack of empathy from some people.

Probably very low.
Disagreeing with your opinion on an internet message board is hardly a sign of a psychopath.

That doesn't mean much coming from a poster who is considered racist by 95 percent of CP.
