Cleared hard mode! Great run with a new shell, chest, mark, scout rifle and pulse rifle. A little disappointed it was not harder

Aren't they adding a third difficulty though?

Heard rumors of a challenge mode. Would be pretty cool if they do what they do with the Nightfalls and rotate the skulls. Could be interesting running the raid with different buffs and debuffs each week.

I made it up to the sisters today. Not too bad of a haul so far. 313 ghost, 315 machine gun and 317 gauntlets for my titan.

Also, I like the changes I've seen in hard mode so far. They didn't simply up the level of the baddies, or added more oracles or whatnot like the previous raids. I like the addition of little mechanics to the fights without affecting the overall mechanics that we've learned over the last few weeks.

I came to a sad, sad realization last night. There is now really no more end game for me. I've been a bit of a nerd on this expansion, playing a ton, but there is now no way to get my guy higher then Hard mode raid. As all my gear is 310 or above, so can't even farm engrams in strikes. Pretty much run hard mode, and get ready for Trials.

Love this expansion, but was hoping for a real hard mode. The way it was pumped up, was hoping there was going to be some major changes that never occurred:

some raid spoilers:
Spoiler!

etc.

I feel like the raid was a bit of a let down for me, even though I think it is brilliantly designed. I've had a blast, but for now think I will be helping organize regular mode raids for newer members to keep me interested.

Thanks for the invite Buck, was fairly easy. Also reminded me that I need to learn to avoid dmg better

Tried King's Fall hard mode and it was a bit interesting. Up to Golgoroth was okay; we were able to take down the priest in a few tries, though it was noticeably more difficult.

But wow, Golgoroth was a real challenge - there is so much going on at once you really need a team that communicates well. It became really obvious a few times who could handle the extra mechanics and who could not. There was just so much frustration at that part we had two guys leave because of a terrible attitude. Did manage to clear it though.

Cleared the sisters - that wasn't terrible, though the random runner seemed to cause problems as usual. Didn't even try Orxy because Golg took so long.

All in all, I think hard mode is just that. With no revives it magnifies issues pretty quick, and teamwork is even more important. I know some hardcore guys are looking for something even harder (see Jbo's suggestions), but for a more casual player like myself, it was plenty hard. I could see a lot of teams having trouble clearing hard mode even once - there are pretty much no "cheeses", and one or two weak team members will bring the whole team down.

Still - great fun! Got some nice look to up my light a few points and I'll be running again after the reset for sure.

I had sorta hit that point a little bit once I started approaching 310 before HM. Only the raid dropped 300+ items. Therefore, what was the point of even doing the rest of the content?

Trickling of content has helped that so far, as does some of the end-content exotic pursuits. I haven't had a chance to do a lot of the side items previously. But I've been stuck in a hotel room in Winnipeg the last two weeks. Gave me a chance to chase up Malice, Sleeper, Fabian and Simulant. So lots for me to do haha. And thank God they upped the nightfall drops, because I still have a lot of sub 310 gear still.

But to your point, it's sorta been like this with all the other DLC so far, where you hit max level, and then you either take a break or just play a lot of PvP hahah. Fortunately the amount of content prior to hitting that wall has been awesome this time around.

And yeah I'll have to disagree on the raid. It's been swell. Definitely on par with VoG. Mind you I only have about 6-8 normal clears. I'm pretty sure I have friends who have done it 3x a week since maybe week two hahah. Also the HM mechanics for King's Fall vs. the HM mechanics of the other raids have been better.

Re: Golgoroth HM. We did the one orb method, and that went relatively smoothly. He was already enraged when we dropped him, but it still worked. We're also slowly managing Oryx HM. We managed to get two bomb cycles in before calling it a night.

Smoke Bombs and Snare are too much fun. Full Rift match with a 6.0kd

I wouldn't be surprised to see the community grow more restless in a couple weeks once people are farming Oryx regularly 3x on Tuesday with HM, Trials a couple weeks in and the need for new content slowly growing on the minds of everybody wanting more. The Halloween event was a nice touch. Thriller Dance was a nice splurge though I kind of regret buying that 6 pack for masks since I didn't realize that you couldn't wear them overtop of your existing gear and takes up precious inventory space lol...

Here's one from last night.

My buddy and I were playing Elimination and were 3v2 for this game. Ended up beating them 5-1. Sweet Eirene to the rescue.

Purchased the Thriller Dance and the Boo emote. A bunch of buddies and I held a Thriller concert at the tower spawn point and just "performed" there in sync for about 30 mins. No regrets lol.

In case you're not aware about oryx HM. You don't have to kill the knight that detonates the blights as long as you don't kill the orge right away (just leave them with a sliver of life). Wait till you stagger oryx then finish off the orges and detonate the blights right away. I found this to be much easier to manage.

Yeah, I finished hm oryx using that new ogre strategy today at 307 on my warlock.
Bumped me up to 309.
Ran it again with my hunter tonight, but couldn't finish oryx with the team I had. Got some good drops though, and I hit 312.

From Cook and Becker's FB page. The art is mounted on a sheet of thick metal and sealed with a layer of liquid epoxy so it's protected and looks like a sheet of glass.

Sooo close to beating Oryx yesterday. We had him down to a tiny sliver, but then lost track of him in the very last shade and ran out of time... so frustrating!

Couple clips from last night. Apparently most of my clips focus on killing Sunbreaker's, which is a great satisfaction.

That seems a lot more hectic though leaving 4 ogres alive. Wouldn't it be easier just to have the people who are standing on the pads kill their ogre, and then look to the opposite side to snipe the knights as soon as they spawn in?

It's actually not that bad. The problem with people trying to kill their knights is you sometimes get some people who are just not good at precision hits or panic when the knights get halfway to the blight, thus making more mistakes.

Here's a video explaining how it's done:

And this strategy is full proof. People have ran it with players with 0 experience in the oryx raid and came out ok. So the order is:
1. bring orges to 10% of health
2. relic runner comes to left platform.
3. Everyone goes to left platform.
4. someone preferably bubble blessings of light
5. stagger oryx
6. kill all orges and detonate.

I have been playing Destiny off and on for a bit now, and I've got my hunter up to level 28 now. By no stretch of the imagination am I really good at Destiny or any fps really. I have been staring at the Vault of glass raid recently.

I know its a pretty low level raid for some of you but I was wondering if any of you maybe wanted to give it a go with me sometime.

My PSN is MaxFandango (I chose that name when I bought a vita and still in the "I will only ever play my Xbox" phase)

Again I say I am not really good at Destiny and I will probably EFF up more than once so if we play please don't freak out on me haha.

Being no good leaves me a tad hesitant to just find some random group. I really don't care to deal with Mr. Highstrung gamer.
