I don't see how one can look at the success the team experienced last season, and then summarily dismiss all of Treliving's deals for having not "payed off on the ice." Hiller was a huge part of securing the Flames' playoff berth and their first round win. Engelland is not a top four defensemen and is definitely overpaid, but the team was and is better with him in the lineup than filling it from the farm.

As for this year, after less than ten games of his playing career in Calgary, it is preposterous to point to the Dougie Hamilton acquisition as a failure. And Michael Frolik has easily been one of the the most consistent and best of the Flames' forwards in every game he has played so far.

The bad start is what it is, but it should not yet reflect so poorly on the GM. Treliving's performance will be measured in much larger increments than from game-to-game.

Your homerism is dramatically over the top.

Frolik is currently the the Flames highest paid forward. He has 3 more games to score his first goal as a Flame before he is oh for October. He consistently does not score or drive scoring.

For comparison purposes Byron had 1 goal 4 pts in 12 games for the Flames last October and had a far more obvious energy impact. Byron was +3.

Has Frolik made the Flames Better??? Obviously not.

For Crying out loud.... the player that Frolik most replaced as substandard top-6 RW --- Stempniak --- is doing way better after his PTO contract win with NJ. He is getting paid $850K on a one year deal.

You ought to know about being over the top.

Tell you what: We'll fire everyone, get rid of all the players, and make you PHO and GM. We'll change the name of the team to the Calgary Gritty Ricardos. And then we'll just watch the Stanley Cups automatically roll in. Will that satisfy you, O my lord and master?
