The muppets are out in full force tonight.

I wish you all a good evening.

I will re-iterate what I said on the previous page. Forget about the record, forget about the playoffs and whether they are toast or not.

Just go back to basics; get wins on the board, put a run together and see where it takes you.

Yeah the better option is to abandon the forum for a while until things cool down.

Truth is the Flames are not as bad as their record (and their NY trip in particular) would indicate. I suppose the same could have been said for last years surprise season...

Easier said than done, but I'd suggest if people committed to not looking at the standings until at least the end of Nov, it would go miles into adding some perspective to the situation and everyone's blood pressure.

Let's not stress out about our playoff situation until at least US Thanksgiving, we'll all enjoy the ride a little more

Maybe it's time to call up some players from the farm and give them a chance.

If Spector has legit sources - there's teams out there willing to give us a 2nd line forward for Russell. Dear god we have to pull the trigger.

And don't ****ing tell me we can't trade him because he has an A.

What's really mind bending about the play this year, is this would have been fully acceptable as of last year. Why couldn't this have happened last year?

Almost like the Flames were playing not to get Connor McDavid and this year they are playing to get Connor McDavid. This inverse reality is not acceptable.

I don't care what the system was in Boston or who his partner was, you don't put up numbers like that in the NHL as 21 year old d-man unless you are the real deal, let's not strap the goat horns on to this kid due to our desires to jump from re-build to contender in 2 short years.
I'm quibbling because i agree with the spirit of your post and I wouldn't throw him overboard or anything, but I dont buy the 'he's still developing' part.

He's 200 games in. If Hamilton truly hasn't figured out defense 101 by now he's not going to, and the flames have committed to 5m+ to a bigger yet somehow softer Justin Schultz.

I do buy the idea that maybe a new team/new expectations/new everything has a young man discombobulated though. You can only learn to deal with change through change, so that part is new. I'm still hopeful he will shake it off.

He must be spending a lot of time in his own end then.

You are going to argue that a 22 year old D-man is no longer developing..................ok then.

Well at least don't change the avatar so I know whose posts to read beginning to end.
