2 extra boat slots with the release of ze german line and Russian line today. The Exp gained from testing the tier V cruiser and Russian Tier VI DD were transfered over to the tier one boats. On the tier 4 German cruiser now.
Liking the German cruisers so far. nice change up from the Abysmal Furutaka and the long looooooong grind from Cleveland to the Pensacola.
Seriously, how can a tier V ship be so freaking bad is beyond me. Furutaka has terible Torps, ridiculously slow re-loading time for the guns and the weakest Citadel in the game. Getting to 33k exp for the Aoba is going to be a long one. And it's not even fun like it was for the U.S run up to Cleveland.
Hoping for British cruisers soon. Although I think the Russian Cruisers and German BBs are next in line for release. At least thats how I see it.

I have hated the Furutaka grind as well, but did they recently buff it? I played mine yesterday and it was the first time I can remember having 10 km range on torps, and it seemed like artillery reloaded faster. All of a sudden I'm having decent games in it.

I hear they did, a bit. But even now it's still the worst. I have the torps to upgrade yet and the final hull upgrade. Not that I think it'll make a huge difference, but I'll do them just because.

German cruisers have been awesome so far. Took the tier2 out for a spin last night and was amazed by its ROF. Even had 3 citadel hits in 1 match and sunk two cruisers.
Should be in the teir3 pretty quick, looking forward to seeing how it does.

Tier 3 German cruiser is a machine gun. I am in in the tier 4 and it sucks. You go from 6 to 5 guns on each side and the rate of fire slows considerably. Exp grind if tough on this one. getting to 18k exp for the Koenigsberg seem monumental.

That's too bad. A bit frustrating going from a fun boat to a long drawn out xp grind.
Ah well.
Oh, and as per my previous questions regarding the ease in which my fighters were getting shot down, I found one thing that has helped. On the boat upgrades, I had AA range +20%, switched that to 20% increase in fighter survivability and that seems to have helped.

Yup, don't need AA really, just bribe a Cruiser with good AA to stay near you.
I don't know if I mentioned it before, but damn is the Pensacola horrible.

Yup fully upgraded. The damn thing gets one shotted easily, its slow to maneuver and the turrets rotate slower than the turn rate of the ship.

FREEDOM! Free from the Furutaka, free from that insanely terrible Karlsruhe!
Canot wait to roll around in the Aoba. And I'm quite familiar and quite happy with the Koenigsberg. And I'm really close to the Pensacola too. About 18k EXP awy, which isn't bad really considering the exp per match is pretty consistent at about 1k-1.5k.
The Cleveland will also be the first ship I do not sell out of the rotation though. She's pretty fun to play.

Got the 70k EXP finally for the Pensacola. First Tier 7 woot woot!
Still really enjoying the Koenigsberg and Aoba a bunch, both have their pluses and minuses but overall they'e both fun ships to fight in.

Done with the Phoenix last night, finally got the Omaha. I understand it's a pretty good ship?
Been playing a lot of cruisers as of late. I tend to open up on other cruisers with AP. Any point in firing AP at a BB as a cruiser? Destroyers I only use HE.

Omaha is a good cruiser. It has a decent rudder shift, turning radius, and guns pointed everywhere. Just keep turning and tape down the fire button.
AP at a battleship from a cruiser usually does next to no damage, unless you get lucky with a plunging shell hit; most bounce off the armour belt, and the others over-penetrate the superstructures. Usually only use AP on cruisers with armour that is thin enough for the shells to get through, and sometimes on carriers if the distance means the shell speed won't go right through the ship.

Haha, I like that.
Looking at the upgrades last night on the Omaha. Appears to be two hull upgrades. The 2nd upgrade you seem to lose a main gun in favour of a ton of AA guns. To date, I haven't seen much use for AA on any boat I've had so far. Only other plus is an increase in HP. Is the 2nd hull upgrade worth it for the HP alone?

Omaha is a solid run. It's really fun in medium distances.
AP on a BB sucks. Unless you get a citadel hit below the water line. And thats about as rare as anything. just light em with HE and keep lighting them up until they burn into the water.
AP on DD is kind of a waste too FYI. I use AP almost all the time to go against cruisers and when I run into a DD I forget to switch and have to drive the pee out my boat to survive. HE shots screw the DD's up big time.
As for the 3rd Omaha hull, I persoanlly skipped it in favor of saving the EXP for the Cleveland. Although in hindsight I would recommend getting it just for the practice of being a cover cruiser. Because that's the Clevelands speciality, I think in all the U.S Cruisers on the Atlanta is better? Cleveland is an AA beast. Besides, it's nice to hunker down beside a BB once in a while to avoid being target #1.

Just finally got to drive the Pensacola today after discovering I was about 4 million short to buy the thing.
Initial thoughts, You can feel the potential there once the upgrades are installed for sure. But yeah, the guns are slow. But they do pack a punch. Range sucks, I assume she gets much much better once you get the radar upgrade. That's part of the problem I think, in a tier 7 you're up against some very very rangey boats who can just pick you off while you try to get in your range. AA is okay out of the box.
The Nurnberg is the bane of Pensacolas existence. Only because it's 10.0 rounds per minutes is so very deadly. And the German guns are accurate as hell. Especially in the range you need to be in to attack the durned thing.
I thought T7 got the ice level. Must be T8.
New maps are fun. Having big lag issues on the Volcano map though, doesn't matter which boat I use, Zooming in is lag city. Firing shots off is a glitch extravaganza. Did make a report to WG. Anyone else have that issue there?

I'm really liking the new missions they put in; 1 mil credits and a extra ship slot for getting 2 kills? Sure, let me get my destroyer out!
On the other hand, I can't seem to get a citadel penetration to save my life now. Hopefully it's just RNGesus hating me for a few games.
I think I had one game on the Volcano map, but I don't recall having any unusual lag issues.
