Thanks Juice! I wouldnt have known of this promo had you not posted the thread.

I made the bet last week, before Big Ben went out, so I thought at most I could get my refund. Some crazy events in the 4th, and I'm up $1K.

If you ever go to a Flames game, send me a PM. I'll hook up and buy you a beer or two!

PS: I still dont understand why Mansion would have offered this promo. For those who understand this business better, what was in it for them?

The fees would be like....$100...I don't think they pay that. And if I'm mistaken, that sucks for me.

Attracting high rollers. Unlike a poker room where the rake is capped, a sportsbook makes way more money from high bettors.

Since you have to have $1000 around to make the bet, presumably a lot of the people doing this have lots of money to throw around.

Plus they most likely hedge their bets elsewhere to guarentee a smaller loss that is more manageable.

Heh, hate to say it, but you are. Mansion completely took care of all the fees, but I could only InstaCash up to my limit, which was $900. I was quite shocked they would actually cover it, but I did it, and it was 100% free. I used a credit card for the other $300, and had to pay fee's on that, but still, not too damn bad at all.

Thanks Draug, dont worry about it! I made money on this thing, and glad some others were able to partake as well. Figure I gotta try and give back in some way to CP for all the great pleasure I take in it.

Congrats. I tried to get in, but couldn't get my money in in time. Looks like if I had tried harder it would have been possible. Oh well.

x2. I tried on the weekend, but they took it off. Then tried again the day before the game and was once again SOL.

Oh well. I did inform a couple of my buddy's about it.... Hoping for some "appreciation" from them now... LOL!

Mansion was also probably hoping that for the people that won would leave some of that extra cash behind in their new account and gamble a bit.

I also wonder how much interest they earned on those deposits.

I'm guessing no where near the cost to pay out the bets.
