United should have won this ... Lingard was unlucky and Hart made a fantastic save vs Smalling. Two points dropped IMO, City only played for the draw today.
I am sick and tired of Wayne Rooney. Everybody else would have been dropped three games ago, but hey, it's Rooney. Undroppable for some reason. Pisses me off.

Harry Kane scored what was possibly the easiest hat trick in PL history

the PA announcer at Bournemouth accidentally turned on the mic in the 89th minute today

Absolute banter here as the PA system accidentally broadcasts a conversation upstairs. "Men against boys". "F&$%@$ unbelievable".

City parked the bus well today. Comfortable point but time for Rooney to give way to Martial up front.
And Tim Howard? Talks wayyyyyyyy too much.

You're wrong. United should have had a penalty and Wayne Rooney is soccer's Wayne Gretzky. Best there ever was or ever will be.
Quote:
Louis van Gaal said Manchester United should have had a penalty in their derby stalemate against Manchester City at Old Trafford, and also said he was "sick" of questions about striker Wayne Rooney.
The Dutchman refused to talk about captain Rooney, who struggled in attack, saying: "I don't give any more answers about Wayne Rooney. I am sick of them."

Sounds like someone is untouchable. What are his wages again?

Nice win for Tottenham today. There were some wondering about their lack of goals thus far, but a game with Bournemouth is a good cure.

yep was nice to see, hopefully Son is back in 2 weeks for Arsenal as well
the defending this year is amazing , I can't remember a Spurs team this solid at the back since he who shall not be named left, if they can keep this up (Toby and Jan are one of the best partnerships in the league so far) and Kane/Eriksen/Son/Lamela can combine for enough goals no reason top 4 can't be on with how Chelsea is struggling

Gotta think we're buying a forward in January, too. No idea who's going to be available but it's a must at this point.

Rooney, Wayne. Conveniently we're gonna need your goalie as part of the package back next summer.

ya, doesn't even need to be a big signing, just a capable backup, which is what January is for
especially a game like today, no need for him to play that last 20 minutes, it's lucky we don't play again for 8 days. But if they had a mid-week game it could start to add up

Since the beginning of March, Rooney has scored four league goals. In that same time period he has provided one assist. Marouane Fellaini has created six fewer chances than Rooney in more than 650 fewer minutes.
Glenn Murray, Charlie Adam and Odion Ighalo are among the 28 Premier League players with more goals in that time – seven of those are English. Almen Abdi, Patrick van Aanholt and Ahmed Elmohamady are among the 58 players to have created more chances – 18 are English.

I wonder if it's the United system that doesn't work for him, because with England while I don't think he can be main striker, he's still creating a bunch of chances
yes against teams that aren't the best, but he's not behind Sterling or Kane or Barkley etc. in doing so
think the best thing LVG could do is make him the number 10 with Martial up top and just give it a 5 game run to see how it goes

I agree. With his current skill set he's not really a guy you want as your lead striker or number 9. Lost a little pace so not as quick, not big enough to be a target man, and is better with the ball at his feet then making runs behind the defense.
He's also on the wrong side of 30, and for a striker that tends to be when you start to see a dip in play. Those that do age well after 30 tend to do so more in a number 10 role then as a lead striker, since there is less reliance on pace in that hole.

Rooney actually played as the number 10 in 4 games (vs Wolfsburg, Southampton, Sunderland and Arsenal) before the national break and he was equally awful in that role. At this point, his best position is neither striker nor number 10, it's a place on the bench.
Young/Memphis - Herrera - Mata behind Martial is the best option going forward.

I dont think we have a Cup thread but Arsenal and Chelsea fall.
Likely to be followed swiftly by Liverpool. No Sturridge or Benteke, both injured. Its a hefty injury list at the moment.
