Navarro was a horrible choice to pinch hit. You don't need to kill the ball. Let Goins hit, or PH Pennington. Keep the bunt in play.

This wasn't exactly a master class in managing this series. Yost just has the better team, but they both make many poor decisions.

Dammit. I want to be happy for the season the Jays just gave us, but I'm pissed they couldn't cash a run there. Just ridiculous.

Exactly. Theres a number of reasons why the Jays lost, and just as many as Kansas City almost lost. Difference is, the Jays didn't come through, the Royals got a lot of help purely on judgement calls.
HR instead of a double.
Balk which wouldve brought Pompey in uncontested.
Second strike to Revere which changed that at bat form 3--1 to 2-2 and thus the entire dynamic and opened strike zone up.

Exactly! I'd rather have Pompey thrown out at home than him not even Getting a frigging chance to move from 3rd.

Man that second strike call on Revere was horrible!! I cannot understand that. I really feel for Ben there man, the guy was rattled from that call. Navarro not getting the balk was crazy too. Some seriously bad umping this game.
BUT the Royals were the better team I must say. The Jays put their best players on the field today. Price-Sanchez-Osuna those are the guys I want pitching in a must win game if I am the Jays. The Royals still beat us with our best guys out there. Our best player at the plate at the end of the game too. It's just how it goes.
You just can't have so many golden opportunities to score wasted like that.
Goins taking on the first pitch in a bunting situation was a head scratcher too. That gave him once chance to bunt and he didnt do it! So many runners left on base.
How does Cain score from first with Bautista's arm too.
I can go on and on.
Playoff freakin baseball.
Man what a seriously awesome season.
I am so choked they lost but I have to be proud of how they played all season.
I will never forget this season.
Poor Revere man, that was brutal though.

They had their chances. Great season, so many memories.
I won't let myself be disappointed by this, I had become numb to mediocrity, this was amazing.
No shame in losing to the Royals, that is one hell of a team and they play the game the right way. Honestly, I hope they beat the Mets, they deserve it. I always root for the small market team and the Royals were so bad for so long before recently becoming good, it would be great to see them win (I was rooting for them last year). I don't get so caught up in the intense games the the Jays have had with them, that's just great baseball. This has the potential to be an epic rivalry for years.
Thanks for the great season Blue Jays, my fandom has been totally rejuvenated by this run. Can't wait to watch next year, tonnes of great pieces still in place, they just need a starter or two and I have no doubt AA and Rogers will deliver.

They brought him in as a pinch hitter they could have brought in Pennington, Smoak or left Goins in and then brought Navarro in at the bottom of the inning.

Well I'll get into the positivity about the season sometime tomorrow, but for tonight I'm quite frustrated. The missed chances, the Bautista throw that went to 2nd instead of home, and the blown calls by the umps all added up to one crappy result.

The Bautista throw to second is the biggest mystery to me. Cain should not be able to score from first with Bautista's arm. What happened there?

We can blame the umps all we want but we had a guy on third with none out and couldn't cash to tie the game. Lead off double to start the game. No one could move him.
Great season nothing to be ashamed of.

Blue Jays wasted chances with the bat. KC won thanks to judgement calls.
KC got a gift home run, and a non balk call, either if which gets called correct and there would be a Game 7. Never mind the at bat changing horrendous strike call.
All judgment calls.

Pretty much. Even that Navaro strike 2-1 was more than borderline - no pitcher in the league gets that call high and away. Forces him to swing at the same unhittable ball 2-2 because he doesn't know what a strike is.
The Revere pitch is one of the worst calls I've ever seen. You can talk about not putting the ball in play, but calls like that make it impossible to. How are you supposed to cover a zone that big? Sac flies are about putting yourself in good hitters counts and forcing the pitcher to give you something to drive because they are just going to nibble until they have to. The umps screws the Jays and then Revere is supposed to somehow cover a high and outside strike 4 inches off the plate along with Davis' wipeout slider at 2 strikes. Good luck. If Osuna gets that strike then the Royals wouldn't have a prayer of scoring either.
I won't be watching a second of the World Series after that screwjob. Really hard to take the league seriously when umps blow crucial calls that badly. Like I've said all year, robot umps please. I don't need the "human element" ####ing over my team's season.
