Funny enough, I was just thinking that.
Wouldn't be surprised if Ramo was the most likely to clear waivers, so they waived him to free the logjam a bit. Fully with intentions of continuing to test the market for Hiller.

Yes, re-entry waivers aren't a thing any more.
Also, he can be recalled for a maximum of 30 days or 10 games played (cumulative) over the course of the season before requiring waivers again.

A team like buffalo could have used him.

Johnson has been playing better than Ramo so far.

Except in the case of an injury as he would be recalled as an emergency recall and will have to be reassigned when the injured goaltender comes off IR and would not be subject to waivers.

why would the sabres let alone any team (other than those no good oilers) want to over pay for an under performing goalie? Buffalo would just be better off in seeing what they have in their system.
The oilers could probably use him since they only have 2 back ups and neither of them are vets at least Ramo would fit the bill of a vet back up for them...

Both Talbot and Nilsson have outperformed any flames goalie this season. While I concede that it is early into the season, as of right now they are both seemingly healthy. An advantage Buffalo does not have. Thats why.

But the oilers love back ups! Buffalo would go out and land another teams starter if they made a goalie trade. The oilers just love other teams back ups! It's probably hard to understand that since you're an oiler fan...

Jesus man, have some pride! You're so obviously an Oilers fan it hurts to read your posts.
Mods can you at least give him a user title to warn everyone?

I totally trolled a troll there....
Ramo hasn't played well enough for any team to want him. The Flames are doing horrible and he's not good enough for the Flames. Why would any other team want him. I hope this wakes him up and he starts to play well and can make it back up at some point.

I dont know what you're talking about here when you say "the sabres would go out and land another teams starter if they made a goalie trade", when this past summer the sabres got fleeced trading for the sens 3rd string goalie.
Teams trade for backups all of the time, most of them don't pan out but some do alright. Here are a couple examples for you, Hiller and bishop.

I hope he is gone for good. Back to being the best goalie not in the NHL.

Dude, dont you understand that if johnson gets injured they would be left with echl quality goaltending? Even if Ramo is AHL calibre, he is better than anything else they have there. How does that not make any sense.

Re-entry waivers were abolished in the last CBA, and haven't been in existence since the start of the 12-13 season.

Dude, don't you think they could get a better goalie than Ramo if they really wanted.
You're still not denying that you're an oiler fan. Are you an oiler fan? Are you the poster who used to be on here using the name Champion?

Correct.
We're just resting Ramo for the playoffs.

Yes they can, but without giving assets for a temporary fix? Clearly not. He's waiver fodder as soon as Lehner comes back, makes no sense to give up any assets for someone else when they, at the moment is going all in with Lehner.
I already denied multiple times, because it's simply not true. I'm not willing to waste time denying every single post, accusing me of being an Oilers fan because you guys disagree with what I say. I'm here to discuss hockey, just like the rest of you. So excuse me if I don't want to waste my time answering the same thing 100's of times.

What is wrong with that Flames Homer said about the Oilers Goaltending? They are both better than what the Flames have put forward this year. Don't have to be a trolling Oilers fan to see this.
I get it, it's fun to hate all things Oiler, but for crying out loud use some common sense.
