Kulak will slot in very nicely alongside Spoon on the top pairing.
Interesting, when I saw him in the split squad vs. Edmonton he seemed to have a lot of trouble holding the puck in at the offensive blue line, but then again that was the first preseason game. Was otherwise impressed by him, excited to see what he can do!

A few not so pretty turnovers turned me off Kulak last game, im guessing Brad and co. witnessed the same thing. Right call IMO. Nakladal's ready

Could Smid be sent down on a conditioning stint to the Heat?
Having not played in so long i'm not sure we would want to throw him right into game action right off the bad despite our defense playing so poorly.

Yes. Given how poorly the team was playing and given his age and experience, I thought he fared extremely well.

This is a young player who had but 1 meaningless game of NHL experience before this stint.

Maybe you wouldn't phrase it that way, but I thought given the context and expectations, he did great.

I think it is good idea that we hear how proper pronunciation is for the players.... Mind you unfortunately I know I butcher other languages fairly bad.

Most PBP still don't know Chara is pronounced "KAR-a" in Slovak rather than "ch" as in choice as we hear them& sportscasters say it.

Yes, Smid could be assigned for up to two weeks for a conditioning stint if he consented to it.

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
Ladislav Smid is "very close" and a decision on his status will be made tomorrow. He or Nakladal will slot into the lineup tomorrow night.

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
Nakladal's wife, Andrea, was scheduled to visit him in Stockton this week but he told her to cancel -- "You have to fly to Calgary instead."

I bet Nakladal never goes back to the AHL.

If he does, it'll be temporary while they work on a trade to make room for him, and Brodie coming off IR.

Kind of wonder what Nakladal saw while he was in Stockton

Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH
Jakub Nakladal:"A great feeling I'm back...it was good but (Stockton) is a crazy city, a little bit. A little bit danger. But it was great."

Not sure but supposedly Stockton is one of the most dangerous cities in the USA with regards to crime so I hope nothing bad happens to any of the Flames

Lol not exactly the kind of thing you want to hear about the city the farm team plays in, straight from a player's mouth no less.

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
#Flames D Jakub Nakladal told reporters he doesn't think he'll be in lineup against Red Wings.

All the more motivation for the players to get better and get promoted. It's brilliant!

Wow with only like 300,000 people it's Safer than only 3% of the other cities in the US. Some rate it in the top ten but best it got was 40th for most dangerous.

My friend says it's just like most cities though, they have areas you don't really want to be at, just those areas are obviously a lot worse.
