Maybe some Flames players feel jilted after stepping up big time last season only to have Hamilton walk in to the top defense pairing? What happened to always earned, never given?

Guys, I think we all just need to chill. All teams go through slumps and the Flames are going through theirs now. The Flames are still the best team in the Western Conference outside of Anaheim, Chicago, and St. Louis. Turst me on this.

The Flames are very unlikely to get him even if they finish last. Don't get your hopes up.

Then we need to trade everyone who feels that.

Brad and Bob need to clean this up quickly or we will be talking draft by Christmas.

After the purge of the old "core" and the country club, this is what you come up with after Hartley wins coach of the year? Cmon man. Giordano is looking more like a Todd Simpson/Steve Smith type captain than Norris winner. The locker room must be a mess.

so, I think Hartley is struggling because he has 3 goalies. He doesn't have a 7th dman so that he can even threat benching someone. That is a problem that BT created and Hartley clearly doesn't like, I think it is obvious that something behind the scenes isn't right.
They played better in the 3rd, but just some dumb mistakes by a few individuals was the difference. I am not laying blame for this loss on a couple players, the whole team needs to be better and score more goals but those mistakes really cost us. Those players need to be held accountable.

There's really no point to looking forward to potential draft position anymore, thanks to Edmonton.
You could be the 1993 Ottawa Senators and still draft 4th, or you could be the 2015 Bruins and draft 1st.
I predict there will be drafts in the future that will make the McDavid outrage look like everyone was happy that Edmonton won in 2015.
It was such a simple fix and the NHL screwed it up. Just make a rule that you can't draft top 3 more than two years in row, or more than three out of five. Done. Problem solved.
But of course the NHL ####ed it up.

I thought that both Giordano and Hamilton looked better in the third period when they were split up. Granted, the entire team was better for the first half of the period, but Giordano was jumping up into the play again (presumably because he didn't feel he had to cover for Hamilton) and Hamilton made some solid defensive plays.
I also think the hate on Hamilton is a little ridiculous. The kid is 22 -lots of defencemen don't even play in the league until after 22. He's learning a new system and a new playing style. Cut him some slack. 5 games in and we're giving up on a 22 year old? This board is crazy - most people thought Treliving was a god after trading for him and now you give him 5 games and he's done. Crazy...

Mark my words. Flames make the 2nd round this year and possibly go to the 3rd. We have one of the Top 3 defenses in the league.

If Hartley really feels that way, but still dresses Bollig every night, he might as well get rid of his extra forward and carry an extra D instead.

Goalie let in a bad goal, and the whole team deflated right after. Not making excuses for the other guys, but if the gatekeeper cannot shut the gate all efforts are to no avail. Move on to the next game....Ramo, Hiller, Hamilton should eat popcorn and watch

Haha, go cheer for the oilers. No way we start this crap about cheering for last place. No room for that there. At least I won't be a part of it.

I dunno, if we're 25 points out of the playoffs in Feburary are you really going to be cheering for them to run the table?
Once they're out, they're out. Might as well look forward at that point.

Russell looks absolutely horrible this season. He spent half the night lying on his stomach swinging desperately for the puck after Ovi danced around him. The other half was spend making bad pinches, blowing break out passes and just generally looking like a player who would clear waivers without issue. I was actually getting surprised that they kept sending him out there for more shifts.

Easy for a fan to say that...try telling the 23 guys in the room to go out and tank. Hartley, BT and Burke will never give this message to this team.
If fans of the flames think this is a possibility, you are cheering for the wrong team.
