Heres a quick lesson for you son:
Our province has an NDP Government with no federal support.
Our country has a Liberal Government and as yet no Federal Liberal MPs from Alberta.
No one with any sort of power has any incentive or ability whatsoever to take care of Alberta or ensure that our voice gets heard.
But yeah, keep spewing whatever nonsense it is that you think you know.
|
Yeah it sucks, but it's really just a natural consequence of a province electing MPs from a single party at a rate that would leave the Communist Party of the USSR envious. Any time that happens consistently you're going to be left out of any non-Conservative governments. Just like Atlantic Canada largely gets left out of Conservative governments and many parts of BC where the NDP is strong will never have any kind of representation in ruling parties.

Anna Gainey and the rest of the Liberal board of directors deserve one hell of a pat on the back. What they've managed to pull off over the last four years is beyond impressive.

55% is so far, so it'll rise up as the final 26% of polls are counted. I'd expect 70% or so.

If oil is $50, we're screwed in Alberta no matter what government is leading provincially or federally. Oil sands projects continued to be cut before this election happened and they will continue to be cut. Our gas reserves are mature and depleted. Oil sands is the big winner for us and it's not economic right now.
So may as well vote for the social policy you agree with most and hope for the best. And if things really go south then we can all just be unemployed, destitute bums with gigantic mortgages on worthless homes and soothe ourselves with the sweet sweet legal weed.

#CBC is gonna be retracting that Calgary Confederation call pretty quickly. #elxn42 #yycconfed
In the know guy.
Centre and Confederation might come down to the special ballots, recounts, etc.

Ralph Goodale is still in politics(?) Unbelievable.
Next thing you are going to tell me is that Stephane Dion is still in politics.

If there was proper electoral distribution between urban and rural ridings, Alberta would likely be sending fewer Conservatives to Ottawa.

I'm not surprised. Every party's policy was bits and pieces of what Canadians probably want, but no one party's policy was what Canadians want.
The best result for Alberta might have been a minority, but I think the country needs the stability of a majority. I guess we'll see *shrug*

We'll obviously have to see but Harper talked to nobody, not even his own PC Alberta government.

This is sort of my point, he might. He may. But he certainly doesnt have to if he doesnt want to. Its not like he'll be losing any votes or hearing much effective discord.

To think the 187 people who voted for Yogi's vote actually means this much!
