The NDP had a lot of attractive candidates.

Hooray for a new PM! Getting rid of Harper's leadership group was the biggest issue to me in this election, so I'm delighted with the result.

Trudeau's team deserves a lot of credit as well. They ran a pretty positive campaign and I think Canadians responded to that. I think he was also able to coax more young people to vote. It will be interesting to see the voter turnout numbers when they are out.

But yeah, Harper drove his ship into the rocks. He has been governing like crap for a while now and then his whole campaign was an embarrassment. When the election was called, it was still within his reach to win.

That's what happens when a province has 4.2 million people and 34 seats. Liberals likely wouldn't have a majority if there was proper electoral redistribution.

I hear from a pretty reliable source that according to scrutineers Matt Grant won.

I hope that is correct.

And we can thank Harper's niqab crusade for driving a lot of people to the Bloc.

Still more than 150 polls in Hehr's riding but he'll need some big boxes with big edges to close the gap.

Yup. Trudeau hit all the major points

Senate, Clarity Act, Niqab - let the Supreme Court decide.
Harper doing everything in secret and not talking to reporters / Trudeau will have a open government and will be nice to reporters.
Mulcair will balance the budget / Trudeau will spend on cities

Just a perfect campaign.

Wow I am shocked at these numbers. I can understand the possibility of a Lib minority govt, but this is crazy. Canadians have short memories I guess.

CP ALERT: Stephen Harper to resign as leader, will continue as MP. Caucus will select interim leader. Leadership committee to be struck.

The elderly were manning our polling station. They didn't move too quick.
