On the plus side, Trudeau may listen to his fellow MP's, so having some Calgary representation could be very important. With a Liberal majority, I'd think more Alberta Liberal seats would be better for us.

I would argue though, that big picture, federal affects your life the most. The trouble is, those effects are many years away, when a new government can take credit/blame for the results.
Immediate future, municipal hands down

Only up 300 votes with two thirds of ridings to still report. All the Calgary Liberal chances will probably come down to the wire if they're going to win.

Plenty of hyperbole to go around on election night from all sides, as is tradition.

I'd agree with that, in general if you've always voted the same way you're probably doing it wrong.

CPC is currently sitting at 31.2% of the vote. They aren't exactly being decimated.

Can't help but feel sorry for the NDP. Even the worst projections didn't have them doing this bad.
What does King Trudeau have in store for the next 4 years? He'll probably won't revoke CSIS powers granted in Bill C-51 and he'll push through the TPP, so I see this as a continuation of the Tory majority... the only difference is he'll raise our national debt at the same time. Yay!
Green still stuck at just 1 seat.

I am glad that we are getting change, but am not celebrating until I see them in action.

Too bad. But even if he wins the NDP needs to seriously look at themselves in the mirror they lost most of the progress they made under Jack.

Still waiting for the GST to be eliminated.

Everyone thinks change will happen, it's just a difference in how they see change.
People that voted liberal: "All the change will be positive! Canada will be better from today forward."
People that voted conservative: "All the change will be negative, we are doomed!"

I just hope they honour the financial commitment to this area for the second bridge to Detroit which is badly needed.

And in 4-8 years it will be flipped and we'll all have forgotten, again, that they're all the same.
