Took uber home drunk as a skunk last night and everything was perfect. Friendly guy, easy to find no fuss no hassel.

Just noticed the Calgary Transit app lists uber times along with bus times at your current location.
Don't tell Nenshi.

Wasn't that in the news recently? Thought they already "fixed" that issue.

Well I took an Uber and a Taxi this weekend here is my review
Tried to Uber on Saturday night around 3 am and no cars available. Luckily a taxi showed up without calling and I hopped right in. Told him where I was going and there was no conversation to be had. I tried a couple of times and nothing. He got me home safe but there was nothing else to it. No value add in the commute.
Took Uber to get to work this morning since I left my truck downtown on Saturday got out of shower turned on app was notified ride would be there in 10 mins. I was able to get ready to work while being able to check where my driver was and be outside on the curb waiting as he showed up. He noticed there was an accident on deerfoot on his way to get me so we planned an alternative route to get to the office. He is a oil field fire fighter trying to get on with a local force. He holds his class 4 license which means he is capable of driving a taxi and doesn't worry about the insurance bit of things. He made some good cash on the weekend and today had to wait around 10 mins between rides. Just doing it off an on until he gets a call to go to the field again.

Took uber on Saturday,
What a fantastic service - the driver actually carried a conversation. It was a spotless Audi A4 to boot.
I will never take a traditional cab in this city again.

Since we're sharing horrible taxi experiences, this #### attitude isn't just limited to the drivers. I remember waiting for almost an hour to get through to Checker one time around Christmas time. Finally get through to the operator, tell him how many people and where we wanted to go. In closing I ask him how long the expected wait is and the guy says, "Don't ask stupid questions" and hung up on me. Didn't schedule a taxi for me. W T F!!!

Took an Uber home after the game and it was pretty smooth. Took about 7-10 minutes to arrive. Vehicle was clean and the driver was good. No complaints at all. Not fumbling around with payment at the end is nice too.

I hadn't heard it. I had UberX show up in my list this morning as 8 mins away when I was waiting for the bus. I have tried it a couple more times since and haven't seen an Uber entry again. Guess it was 'fixed'.

Seeing a lot of ads on tv lately looking for Uber drivers. Guess they are doing the full court press.

Nice to see Evan Woolley supporting Uber. At least one member of council doesn't have his head in the sand.

I love that Uber is taking off in Calgary. I use it all the time in the States and I've never had an issue.
While I don't wish ill will on cabbies in this city, I do hope it makes them look at their business model and improve their service.

Something about the app using the same backend as the Calgary transit app. I could be thinking of a different issue though.

Ugh, what is with this desire for drivers to carry conversations? My expectations for good service is, he got there promptly, and brought me to my location.

Yeah, I've never found "not talkative enough" to ever be a mark against a cab driver.

I hate friendly drivers. Be quiet, and get me where I need to go. Who wants to make friends with their Uber driver?

Add to that list friendly barbers, dental hygienists, etc. For cab drivers, let's not talk and I'll play on my phone.

The demographic who enjoy using Uber, I would imagine.

Beaten by the previous comments. I don't need or want a conversation. If anything be friendly if I initiate.
Similar to barbers. Just cut my damn hair.
